Life Legacy Claudia Darnette “Clinkxie” Redwine Coleman, born to Shirline Redwine and Claude Patterson was indeed a blessed Child of God despite life’s challenges in her later years. Born to a family of brothers and sisters who loved her immensely; she was chosen by a family that loved her equally as much. She was surrounded by so much love, caring, and more aunts, cousins, uncles, and other relatives than most people could only imagine, and then to meet and marry the man that God surely had chosen just for her. On September 11, 2024, she passed away peacefully after being hospitalized since August 27, 2024. Claudia was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine “Mickey” Dabney; her two sons, Jermel Washington and Justin Thomas Leon Coleman; one sister Tressie Redwine; three brothers, Brian and Gary Redwine, Rickey Dabney, and a very precious uncle Thomas Leon Redwine. Claudia was an amazing cook, and her food was scrumptiously delicious. She had her own catering business which was Bite Size Catering LLC. She also made beautiful floral door wreaths and centerpieces to everyone’s delight and pure pleasure. She also loved the Dallas Cowboys Football Team and enjoyed teasing her husband about his losing Washington’s team. Since Claudia was a very little girl she loved doing her doll's hair in beautiful styles and had a gift that was definitely obvious. Upon graduation from Petersburg High School, she enrolled in and graduated from Flair Beauty School and was very accomplished. After doing hair in Petersburg and Newport News, she decided to move to Richmond, Virginia. Here she found her home. . .After working with her brother/uncle Billy at Groom’s Rentals and Tailors and at the cleaners. She later found a job at the State Department of Workman’s Compensation and was employed there until 2008 when she became disabled with a brain tumor. Claudia had strong faith and loved her church, The Light Community Church, and was very active in the Golden Years Ministry, The Bread Ministry, Bible Study, The Hospitality Ministry, and sang in the choir for a while. Worshipping for Claudia was so important and it brought her so much joy and fulfillment. She attended church until recent months when she became bedridden. Claudia loved music and loved to dance even as a little girl barely able to walk. She and her brother “Speedy” were natural comedians and liked to keep you laughing. Everyone that knew them has a joke or two to share as a memory. She leaves to honor her memories, her husband of 26 years, Mr. Wilfred Coleman, Jr.; mother, Shirline Burrow; sisters, Pamela Coleman (Ronnie), Crystal Harris (Arthur), J. Teann Robinson, Angela Swanson (Andre’), Claudette Bowens (Willie), Patricia Bolling, Makka Z. Sabbakhan and Indiana Wynn; brothers, Kenneth Woodfin, Tommy Woodfin (Virginia) and Leroi Ferby (Raemonika); aunts, Gloria Moss, Linda Redwine-Bell (Robert), Wanda Taylor and Eva D. Murray; three grandsons; mother-in-law, Gladys Coleman; sisters-in-law, Gladys V. and Brenda Coleman; brothers-in-law, James and William Coleman; in addition to a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. We will truly miss her physical presence but as she always used to say, “I’m just unforgettable.” Rest easy our Clinkxie. You are now at peace, holding and hugging your sons.
