Mr. Clarence Francis Thrower

Clarence Francis “Jerry” Thrower was born on July 11, 1955, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Clarence G. Thrower and Eva Inez Watts Thrower. On August 30, 2026, with his family by his side, Clarence peacefully entered into eternal rest. Born and raised in Baltimore, Jerry attended and graduated from Edmondson High School. At the age of 20, he made the decision to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for 18 years. His military career became an important part of his life and took him far beyond the city where his story began. During his years of service, Jerry also shared his love for sports, serving as both a softball and basketball coach. During the early years of his military service, Jerry met Annette Jones. The two later married, and from their union they welcomed two children, Tamara N. Carpenter (Thrower) and Alonzo C. Thrower. His children loved their father very much, and the memories they shared with him will forever remain a part of their own legacy. If you knew Jerry, then you knew he had his own personality, his own way of doing things, and he was going to do things on his own terms. He could make you laugh, tell you exactly what he thought, and somehow leave you with a story you would remember and probably tell again. As the years went on, Jerry also found enjoyment in photography and putting together puzzles, two hobbies that became a special part of how he spent his time. Above all, Jerry was a son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, family member, and friend. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence G. Thrower and Eva Inez Watts Thrower; his sister, Zerita Edna “Plum” Thrower Johnson; and his brothers, Andre Gillette Thrower, Bernard Calvin “Bernie” Thrower, and Donald Edward “Don” Thrower Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Douglas Harvey “Dougie” Thrower; his sister, Zara Howard; his children, Tamara N. Carpenter (Thrower) and Alonzo C. Thrower; his granddaughters, Taciana Carpenter and Nylah Elam; his grandson, Christian Carpenter; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, goddaughters, extended family, and friends. In accordance with his wishes, there will not be a funeral or memorial service. Our family will honor his request and remember him in our own way.
