Clarence E. Brunt

A Journey of Life “To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heavens” Ecclesiastics 3:1A Time To Be Born...Clarence E. Brunt, Sr. son of the late Samuel J. Brunt and Anniebell Charity was born on June 28, 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland.A Time To Die...For his purpose and in his own way God came into our family and took from us a precious love one. Clarence E. Brunt, Sr. departed this life on April 28, 2007 at Sinai Hospital.A Time To Build...At an early age, Clarence excepted Christ and was baptized at Fairfield Methodist Church, Fairfield, Maryland. In 1984, he united with Trinity Baptist Church, Baltimore under the pastorate of Reverend Dr. William C. Calhoun, Sr.Clarence received his primary education in the public schools of Baltimore. He graduated from Douglas High School. He attended Penn State University, Philadelphia, PA. In 1946, he enlisted to the U.S. Army serving in World War II, receiving a Victory Medal” Army of Occupational Medal”.Clarence retired from Harbison Walker Refractories in June 1986 after thirty-six years of service. He served as Vice President for Steel Workers Local #14601.A Time For Family...Clarence was united in holy matrimony to Valetta. This union was blessed with five sons and seven daughters. Clarence and Valetta enjoyed traveling, bowling, spending time with their children both in and out-of-state. Clarence and Valetta complimented each other well in that they both drew others to their home which was the vocal point for social activity, i.e., Birthday gatherings, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Super Bowl Parties, Weddings, Cook outs or simply dropping bye to say hello. During his spare time, Clarence loved to read, listened to gospels, and watched CNN.A Time To Say Good-bye... Clarence leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife of many, many years, Valetta; five sons, Berkley, Winston (preceding him in death), James, Clarence, Jr. and Samuel; seven daughters, Valerie, Veronica, Wendy, Vera, Mary, Barbara and Karen; two sons-in-law, Derek Jones and Leroy Hurt; two daughters-in-law, Beverly and Stephanie; one godson, James Farrar; thirty-one grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
