Clara Young

CLARA T. PARRAN, tha fourth child of Hattie Irene and Warren Parran, was born on August 11th, 1914 in Calvert County, Maryland. She moved to Baltimore, Md. at an early age and attended Baltimore Church School in the basement of the church on Harlem Avenue and Dolphin Street. Clara was affectionately called "Mother Dear" by all who came in contact with her. At an early age, Clara married the late William Jones. Out of this union, three sons were born to them, William Jones (known as Junior) and Rudolph Jones, who preceded her in death, and Maurice Jones. Mother Dear married the late Edgar Young, affectionately known as "Darling." Clara was baptized into the Adventist Church by Elder William L. Cheatham. After accepting Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, she embraced the third angel's message and the Seventh Day Adventist belief. Mother Dear showed her love for her church as she served faithfully for over fifty years on the Senior Usher Board, a member of Sabbath School Class No. 11, a member of the BYKOTA and the King's Daughters. Mother Dear made numerous friends wherever she went and was well known for her outgoing and friendly personality. She was a devoted family woman and was known for her kindness and generosity as she often showered her family and friends with gifts. Mother Dear will be sincerely missed by all who knew her. In the early hours of Friday morning, May 12, 2006, Clara T. Young (Mother Dear) was touched gently by an angel of mercy and now she awaits the "trumpet call" of her soon coming Savior. She will be missed, but we sorrow not as those without hope, for we know that death is a sleep, that will be broken soon, when Jesus appears. She leaves to cherish her beloved memory: a son, Maurice Elsworth Jones; three brothers, James Parran, Oscar Crowder and Paul Vieney; two sisters, Violet Stoakley and Shirley Parson; a devoted goddaughter, Kecia Hitch; grandchildren, Michael Jones, Darryl Jones (deceased), Steven Jones, Karen Robinson, Marsha Jones, Maurice Jones, Marva Martin, Wanda Jones, Karen Opher, Bernadette Swingler, Gina Williams, Andrea Allen, Maurita Jones; twenty-six great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, June Parran, Gloria Crowder and Patricia Vieney; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
