Cheryl Yvette Pollard

Cheryl Yvette Pollard transitioned to glory on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack J. and Clara Johnson Pollard. Cheryl was born and raised in Richmond, VA. She received her formal education in the Richmond Public School System. Cheryl was a self-starter and was motivated to strive for excellence. At an early age, she was the first female newspaper carrier n her community. Cheryl spent most of her childhood to adult life working diligently alongside her father and her siblings in her parent’s store, “The Peanut Store”. Cheryl was a faithful and sincere member of St. Paul’s Baptist Church. She was a dedicated employee for 10 year in the St. Paul’s Baptist Church Culinary Arts Ministry. For 17 years, prior to her illness, she was employed with ACS (formerly known as Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield) as a Research Specialist. Cheryl has a passion for baking and was known for her delicious Sour Cream Pound cakes and Black Walnut cakes. She spent her spare time grooming her lawn, reading, and journaling. Cheryl loved life and gave her very best in all that she did. As a child, he was quiet, very helpful and very respectful. She showed her love to family and friends through her good deeds, her words of encouragement and her beautiful smile. Cheryl enjoyed family gatherings, jogging, tennis, watching movies and swimming. She loved to laugh. She was a vibrant, health and wellness guru. She was always educating herself and her loved ones physically, mentally, and spiritually. Cheryl will be remembered as a woman of action; a straight shooter who demanded only the best from herself, her family and her friends. She was quiet, but a generous giver, a nurturing friend, an AWESOME mother and a follower of Christ. Cheryl leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Jack J. Jr. and Phyllis B. Pollard; a loving and devoted daughter, Natasha M. Pollard; a supportive sister, Jacqueline D. Pollard; a caring brother, Daryl T. Pollard (Nina); grandparents, Winifree and Marie Blakey; three aunts, Mary Brevard, Renee Blakey-King (Marvin), and Sharon Blakey; four uncles, William Pollard, Leroy Blakey, Jerry Blakey and Randy Blakey (Carolyn); four nephews, Terrell Pollard, Detron Patron, Brent Bowie and JahLiyl Pollard; two nieces, Lakiyah Belcher and NahJah Pollard; a devoted friend, Charles Johnson and a host of other relatives and friends.
