Chelsea Y. Batty

CHELSEA YVONNE BATTY, was born on April 17, 1950 in Richmond, Virginia. She fell asleep in death on April 17, 2017. (John 11:11-14) Beloved daughter, mother, sister, and aunt, Chelsea received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. There she met and later married Louis Edward Batty, Sr. and out this union came six beautiful children. She was a great mom and a loyal friend. She worked at Union Memorial Hospital for over a decade in the emergency room as a Patient Care Program Assistant. A job she loved. She was baptized on October 22, 1971 as one of Jehovah's Witness and remained completely dedicated to her God. (Romans 14:8) She wholeheartedly believed in what the Bible teaches, that there will be a resurrection and that time will come when death will be no more. (Malachi 3:16; Revelation 21:3,4). One of her many favorite songs was "Life without end at last.' She enjoyed going out into field ministry and going to the Kingdom Hall until her health prevented her from doing so. Chelsea throughout the years aided many into the truth. Sister Debbie Bennett, Sister Eliza Mays, and Sister Lauretta "Pinky" Mosley, are just three of many she loved and adored that became a part of her extended family and friends remained loyal and lover her wholeheartedly until the end. Affectionately known as "Chicken", her favorite color was red or ruby red. She was an excellent cook, she loved to sew, and she was a fashionista. She leaves to mourn: her mother, Evelyn Coleman; one sister, Tanya Roundtree-Harris; one brother, Troy Roundtree, Sr.; six children, Shawn Batty, Sonia Batty-Fortune, Louis Batty, Jr., Larnell Batty, Leonard Batty, Ladan Batty, Sr;; ten grandchildren, Shekinah "KoKo" Batty, Denera Batty, Deon Batty, Jeremy Holmes, Ladan "Dovie" Batty, Ladan Batty, Jr., Devonta Fortune, Oniyah Batty, Blessin Batty, Kiheem Batty; three great grandchildren, Cameron Waters, Skyy Batty, Kayden Batty; one niece, Aja Roundtree; two nephews, Jarmal Roundtree, Troy Roundtree, Jr.; one daughter-in-law, Christina Batty; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Roundtree; one brother-in-law that preceded her in death, Marshall Harris.
