Charlie James Tyson

God looked into his Book of Life and saw where one of His precious children was ready to be called home to rest. Charlie James Tyson entered his final rest on August 11, 2016 after a brief illness. Charlie, fondly known as, "Tyson or Uncle Bill" and affectionately known as "Daddy, Dad, Grandpa and Papa" He was the youngest son born to the late Herman and Anna Tyson. He entered this life on August 19, 1934 in Winterville, NC. He received his education in Aden, NC Public Schools System. On September 20, 1954 he married Marjorie Allen of New Haven, CT. To this union were born six children: (3) sons - Lloyd Charles Tyson (deceased); Price James Tyson and Gregory Maurice Tyson (Anita); (3) daughters - Vanessa Ann Tyson, Robin Lee Blackwell and Jacqueline Annette Tyson-Hope. In 1966, Charlie and Marjorie moved the family to Baltimore, MD with the support of their uncle and aunt, Malcolm and Francis McNeil. Charlie worked at various industrial manufacturing companies. He later became a driver and he loved driving. He owned a cab and Good Humor Ice Cream Trucks. He drove school buses and then settled into his passion of driving coach buses for Videovue, HB Tours and Hunt Valley. Charlie was very stubborn, always wanted to do his own thing! If he listened to his wife, he would have owned his own bus company. In addition to his own family, Charlie often opened his home to his extended family from the North. The Tyson house was always full of food and family. Charlie loved to entertain and host family cookouts and parties. Charlie was baptized and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in the latter year of his life. It was a celebrated occasion from that moment on. To witness the transformation was a beautiful experience and he shared this experience with everyone he came in contact with. Charlie was an extraordinary man who loved life. He will be remembered for his bold personality and his quick math skills. But most of all he will be remembered for always making money, being there and the love and support he offered his wife, children and grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Herman Tyson; son, Lloyd Tyson and grandson, Lloyd Charles Tyson, Jr. He leaves behind to mourn, his wife of 62 years, two sons, three daughers, ten grandchildren (Michael, Equinthia, April, Paris, Dale, Candice, Ashley, Lloyd, Jasmine and Simone), eleven great-grandchildren (Stephanie, Mykka, Kenya, Demonte, Jay, Marcus, Davon, Nya, Kennedy, Darrius, and Mikaylah), and three great, great grandchildren (Ayanna, Kali, and Journe), three sisters (Rose Staton, Jessica Gray (David), and Lilis Flowers), one brother (Ola Ray Tyson), one sister-in-law, Evelyn Tyson, best friend (Cofield Manley) and a host of family and friends.
