Charles A. Walker Sr.

Charles A. Walker Sr., son of the late Gloria Gibson and William Lamont Walker Sr., was born on August 8, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was one of seven which all preceded him in death: Jeanette Johnson, William (Pete) Walker, Marium Walker, Francine Walker, Wanda Walker and Ronald Walker. He departed this life suddenly on May 25, 2017. Charles received his education from the Baltimore City Public School System in 1974. He graduated from Carver Vocational Technical High School at the age of 18. At that time, Charles decided to join the Army from 1975 through 1981 and received an honorable discharge. Throughout his years of service, he gained recognition by receiving ribbon and medals of honor and the ranking as Sergeant. Charles' first experience in working was at a Sub shop on Park Heights Avenue, where he gained his experience in cooking. Later, he was employed with The Sweetheart Cup Company in early 1980's where he worked for several years as a tradesman. Over the years, Charles furthered his career as a mechanic with One Mile Heritage Automotive Company. This career change was inspired by his love for cars. During the course of his career, he fell head over heels for Briggette Stanley Walker. He devoted his life to her for over 35 years. From that union were six beautiful children. Charles was the jack of all trades and the glue to hold the family together. Charles dedicated his life in providing for his family. He enjoyed fixing breakfast, listening to "Oldie but Goodies", watching a variety of sports, playing video games, dancing and playing his guitar all while sitting in his favorite chair. In his spare time, he loved to talk to family and friends about his life encounters and his life learned lessons. His favorite pastimes included collecting DVD's, tapes, records and recording family memories. He was very funny and had a big impact on many lives. He will truly be missed by many. He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Briggette Stanley Walker; six children, Brandon Stanley, Belinda Stanley, Veronica Walker, Charles Walker Jr., Brittany Walker and Stacey Walker; twelve grandchildren, DeAzia, Tyjanae, Brandon Jr, Tyrell, Devron, Tamia, Jamaya, Dariyon, Elijah, Logan, Charlie and Zyonn; two nieces; Terra and Talisha; one nephew; Antoine; two aunts; Betty Bellamy and Carolyn Gibson; two brothers-in-law; Donald Stanley Sr., and Mark Stanley; and a vast host of other relatives and friends.
