Charles Pryor

Charles Leon Pryor, SR. born to the late Jerry Pryor Sr. and Lucy Pryor on April 29, 1943 in Baltimore, MD, went home to be with his Lord on February 22, 2017. Charles attended Sollers Point High School in Turner Station of Baltimore Maryland. He completed two years of service in the United States Army in which he was very proud. Charles caught the heart of his childhood sweetheart Brenda Lee Whitby by making her laugh with his sense of humor. They married in 1965 and raised two adorable children, Joyce Lynette Pryor and Charles Leon Pryor, Jr. He was a devoted husband, a caring father, grandfather and, loved by his relatives and friends. He loved playing basketball which he played with his entire family and many of his friends. He also loved to play card games and baseball. Charles gave his life to the Lord in 1989 at Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries. He received the gift of the Holy Ghost on July 22, 1990 at Refuge Way of the Cross where he was a member of the Usher Board, Trustee Board, Senior Care Ministry, Sunday School, Men's Ministry and President of the New Members. He cared deeply for his Pastor and faithfully supported his church financially in every way that he could. After Charles retired in 2011 from the City of Baltimore as a truck driver, he continued to do ministry in his neighborhood with his wife and neighbors until he was diagnosed with brain cancer. Charles remained positive during his illness and trusted that the Lord's will be done in his life. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Brenda W. Pryor of fifty-one years of marriage; daughter, Joyce L. Pryor Weddington; son, Charles L.
