Charles Elton Christian

Charles Elton Christian had fought a good fight,he finished his race,and he had kept the faith to the end. He answered the call to surrender his suffering and pain to be present with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday,December 30,2009.Charles was born June 4,1953 in New Kent County,Virginia. He was the son of the late Luke and Irene Christian. Charles accepted Christ at an early age but after wandering he came to himself and returned to the Lord and promised never more to wander.He stated continually that he loved the Lord with all his heart and would wake many early mornings praying aloud to the Lord with his wife.Charles was committed to be all the Lord wanted him to be. He was a faithful member of the Union Baptist Church located in Quinton,Virginia,where his brother Rodney,is pastor. Charles loved going to church and he loved singing. He was a member of the Male and Senior choir and the Pastor's Aide Ministry. Charles completed his education in Kentucky and was employed with Sears for over twenty years.Charles was a loving husband and friend,committed to love all who he came in contact with. He enjoyed gatherings and was always fun and pleasant to be around. His family was very special to him. He loved visiting and calling them every week some everyday or late hours,he had to hear from them and most always with something funny to say.He leaves to cherish some wonderful memories his devoted wife of one happy,eventful and exciting year and three days,Evangelist Inez Christian,one son,Jermaine Dunston,one granddaughter,De`Ereka Saunders,two brothers,Pastor Rodney(Mary) and Larry(Pattie) Christian,three sisters,Margaret and Irene Christian and Sylvia Randall(George Sr.),four step-children,two devoted Lois Hill and Denise Moses,Fletcher(Jeni)and Destiny Hill,four step grandchildren,Sharnell,Sharnise,Sharnez and Sharnesha Hill,three step-great grandchildren,Shaniya,Daniya and DeSean,three brothers-in-law,Charles,Bernard and Willie(Margaret)Gayle,three sisrers-in-law,Marian Shelton,Viola White and Irene(William)Robinson and a host of nieces,nephews,cousins and other family and friends,three devoted friends,Leon Stakes,Robert Mackey and Horace Dickerson.Family and friends were very special to Charles and he counted himself blessed to have them. If you knew Charles you loved Charles and counted him among your friends.
