A Time to be Born…Charles Edward Warner, Sr., was born October 20, 1944 in Hopeton, Virginia. He is the son of Ada Warner Bell of Parksley, Virginia and Melvin Needham of Green bush, Virginia.A Time to Learn…Charles graduated from Mary N. Smith High School in 1964.A Time to Serve… He served his country in the Armed Forces from September, 1965 through October, 1967; as well as Active Reserve Duty for several years.A Time to Love…Charles married the love of his life, the apple of his eye: Jeanette Finney, affectionately called “Dean and Moma” on December 13, 1965. To this union were born two children, Vonda and Charles Warner, Jr. His family was his greatest love. He never stood in judgment of others.Charles had a special way of showing love to his family by always being present from Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day. He was known to get in his van, and pay a surprise visit just to say, “ I just stopped by to say how Y’all were doing.”A Time to Laugh…He enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren. He told his oldest granddaughter just last week if he found another scratch on her car, he would park it in the backyard. No amount of fussing or admonishment could stop the zest and zeal that he had in his heart for others.A Time to Die… He entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, November 8, 2003.A Time of Peace…He leaves to honor and cherish his memory his wife, Jeanette of thirty-eight years; one daughter, Vonda Warner; one son, Charles Warner, Jr. (Alvatina); his mother, Ada Warner Bell (George Bell, Stepfather), Parksley, VA; his father, Melvin Needam (Catherine Needam, Stepmother), Greenbush, VA; seven grandchildren, Vonica, Terrell, Edward, Sasha, Tehron, Caprice and Tyshon; one brother, Larry Needam (Grace) Chesapeake, VA; eight sisters, Sally Satchell (William), Frankford, DE, Margaret Shrieves (Freddie), Parksley, VA, Regina Waters (Anthony), Horntown, VA, Patricia Benton (Mark), Hampton, VA, Valeria Davis (John), Palm Coast, Fl, Dorothy Thompson (Clinton), Springfield, VA, Valeria Davis (John), Palm Coast, FL, Dorothy Thompson (Clinton), Springfield, VA, Angela Doane (Hewitt), Dale City, VA, Penny Torry (Lee), Burke, VA; two brothers-in-law, David Finney and William Watson; three aunts, Fannie Warner, Bertie Dennis and Bessie Wharton; three uncles, Johnny Warner, Calvin Warner and James Needam, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
