Charles E. Blagmond

CHARLES EDWARD (EDDIE) BLAGMOND was born on December 27, 1921 in Baltimore, MD, to the late William and Lillie Blagmond. He went home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2005 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. Eddie is survived by his loving wife Sarah, of Baltimore; and devoted daughter, Teresa Dixon, of Frederick, MD. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara Elizabeth and Margaret Blagmond; and two brothers, William and Robert Blagmond. Eddie attended the public schools in Baltimore and he served in the United States Air Force, a veteran of World War II. Eddie spent most of his working career as a Meal Cutter at Esskay Meat Company, and retired from there in 1984. He was an industrious man, a tireless worker. He was employed as a part-time Driver for Catonsville Auto Parts until his illness and subsequent death. Eddie met and married Sarah Zeigler in 1969. They spent 36 wonderful years together, caring for each other and showing great hospitality to all who entered their loving home. Eddie enjoyed cooking and often prepared delicious gourmet meals, including his specialty: crab cakes. Eddie was a member of Elks Lodge 1107, the American Legion, and the Order of Masons. He and Sarah were very fond of traveling with these groups and socializing with their friends. It was his pleasure to take Sarah out and celebrate her "birthday" every time they went out together! Eddie was very organized and made sure they always had candles and matches handy for these frequent birthday celebrations. His gift of hospitality was apparent at home or wherever he was. Eddie was also very neat and meticulous; "sharp as a tack" when he stepped out into the public. He loved to drive (even just for fun!), enjoyed the Gun Club and skeet-shooting, and he was a good bowler. His favorite pastime was watching the world famous Baltimore Orioles play baseball! Eddie was a faithful member of Friendship United Methodist Church and served on the Board of Trustees. In his earlier years he sang with the Men's Chorus. Edward Blagmond was a man who will be remembered as a wonderful husband, an excellent father, a good friend, and a hard worker. He will be missed by all those who knew him. With Love, The Family
