Charles E. Duppins

CHARLES EDWARD DUPPINS, JR. was born on June 21, 1949 to Celeste Pope and the late Charles E. Duppins, Sr. Charles departed this life on October 31, 2013, after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by two sons, Marvin and Darryl Duppins, a stepson, John H. Morris, Sr., and two sisters, Lolita Cooper and Teresa Morris. Nunny, as he was affectionately called, was the product of the Baltimore City Public School System. He worked at the Governor’s Club at the early age of seventeen. After working various other jobs he found his passion in painting. He worked for many, many years for the Carnor Painting Company as a Painter. His career ended with the company after a very traumatic accident. Early on, Charles married Geraldine Duppins and from this union there were two children, Andrea Duppins and the late Marvin Duppins. This union ended in divorce. After twenty-one years of courtship, he married the love of his life — Mary. From this union twins were born, Derrick and the late Darryl Duppins. He loved Mary unconditionally; and his children, Marvin, Andrea, Derrick and Darryl were his world. Nunny had a love for Christ. He attended the Dynamic Deliverance Cathedral, under the leadership of Bishop James Adams. Charles was a very dedicated and family oriented man! He loved and had a zest for life. He made numerous friends wherever he went and loved his family and children dearly. Nunny was a nice, funny, sweet guy who cared about a lot of people more than of himself. He was an excellent father, stepfather, and grandfather. He was a true fan of the Baltimore Ravens. He loved to eat the snowball ice from the Avenue and candy. He also was a fan of watching the “Walking Dead.” He was very strong and determined and will be truly missed by all who knew him. Nunny leaves to celebrate his precious memory: his loving wife, Mary Duppins; his mother and stepdad, Celeste and Herbert Pope; his daughter, Andrea Duppins; his son, Derrick Duppins; two granddaughters, Akaya and De’Asia Duppins; five grandsons, Audariyae, Darryl Jr., twins Da’maree and Da’caree, and Derrick, Jr.; four stepchildren, Pauline Samuel, Jacqueline, Telley, and Anita Kilson; three brothers, Calvin Duppins, Wayne and Larry Morris; three sisters, Lorraine Duppins, Bernadette Weinberg and Barbara Ann Morris; four sisters-in-law, Ethel Duppins, Crystal and Monique Morris, and his favorite sister-in-law Juanita Miller (Oliver); two brothers-in-law, Albert Brown and George Ball; his one and only aunt, Lessie Gannon; and uncle, Clifton Morris. He is also survived by a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
