Charles Wardell Bradley

Charles Wardell Bradley, son of the late great Louise Bernice Christian-Bradley was born on May 31, 1957.He was the grandson of the late great John & Nancy Christian, beloved nephew of his late great uncles John Edward, Melvin, Clarence, George, Charles, Wallace, Floyd, and aunts Doris, and Helen Christian. On June 24, 2025, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ called Charles Wardell Bradley home to eternal rest. Charles, affectionately known as Wardell, Mr. Charles, Uncle Ghost, Ghost and Hoodie, was the oldest son of his siblings that included Dennis, Mardina, Tonya, Barry and Don. Gregory, Janice and Terry who all preceded him in death. He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. At the tender age of 18, Wardell signed up for the United States Army in 1975. At such a young age, parting from his beloved mother and siblings for the first time was one of the most difficult and formative moments of his life. He successfully served 6 years before receiving an honorable discharge. He later served with the Army National Guard. After his military service, he worked at Levindale Nursing Home as a floor technician, where he took great pride in the quality and thoroughness of his work. Following his retirement from Levindale, he continued to share his expertise with several other companies, using his skills to lead and train fellow employees in the field. Wardell was introduced to Venita Maria Porter by his late Aunt Rico. After several years of courtship and falling in love, they married in September 1983. From their union came a son, Wardell Terron Bradley, who remained dedicated to providing care and support to his father throughout his life. Additionally, Wardell and Venita shared two stepchildren, Lakeisha and Alterron. Wardell and Venita shared a passion for travel, with Jamaica standing out as a particularly memorable destination. They valued opportunities to travel alongside family and friends, frequently organizing group trips, notably to Atlantic City. He was like a kid in a candy shop as he approached Atlantic City with his excitement growing as he got closer to the city. Wardell enjoyed playing the lottery and his dream was to hit BIG and bless everyone with their lifelong dreams. He remained devoted to his marriage with Venita, and following her passing in 2002, he did not remarry and continued to wear his wedding ring. He honored his marital vows to the day of his departure to reunite with her in Heaven. Wardell and Venita moved to the Park Manor Circle Community where they enjoyed and became good friends to many neighbors. He served as an esteemed pillar within his community, earning the friendship and respect of his neighbors through his considerate actions. He consistently provided treats for local children and took great satisfaction in observing children be children. They all knew him as Mr. Charles. On May 31st, for what would be his final birthday with us, the neighborhood decorated the outside of his home and gathered around to sing " HAPPY BIRTHDAY" in celebration. Wardell developed strong relationships with staff at his local WAWA, which he frequented several times each day. His visits became so regular that he was often offered complimentary coffee. Wardell especially enjoyed creating his own unique blend of WAWA coffee. Wardell gave his life to Jesus Christ while watching Joyce Meyers on TV in 2004. He asked God to deliver him from drinking and God honored his request. His deliverance demonstrated the gracious power and mercy of God extending boundlessly to all people. He had a deep appreciation for First Apostolic Faith Church and held Bishop Franklin Showell and First Lady Showell in high regard. He consistently sought ways to support both the church and its leaders and demonstrated his commitment by regularly contributing tithes and offerings. Wardell, with his humbleness and a fun-loving spirit, always brought a smile to your face and laughter to your heart with his jokes and different ways of viewing life. He was a skilled craftsman who successfully managed projects, both within his own home and in support of various family members’ home needs, as well. His gifts and talents will be truly missed. Despite his modest nature, he consistently demonstrated a willingness to safeguard and support his family in all situations. A Patriarch in our family who will be truly missed. He leaves to cherish his memory: Wardell Terron (Michelle), Alterron, LaKeisha, Deborah and Dennis Bradley Sr., Mardina and Tony Boykins, Tonya and Bobby Eaton, William and Antionette Bradley, Donald Bradley; Brother-in-laws: Michael(Nadine) and Keith Porter; Aunts: Virginia Barber, Viola Christian, Margarette Christian, and Gloria Christian: Uncle: Joseph Christian Sr.: Beloved Nieces/Nephews: Shawntay and Tyreen, Dennis Jr, Dennell and Gregory, Tonnia (Icy) and Reggie, Morgan, Davonte (Brobbie) and Deshai, Javonta and Jayla; Beloved Great nieces and nephews: Gabriel, Isaac, Isaiah, Eden, Gavin, Lily, Julia, Sevin, Tyreen, Daysia, Emiah, Elijah, Josiah, Aria and a host of other relatives, friends and family.
