Charlene C. Jordan-Baker

CHARLENE CANELLA JORDAN BAKER, was born on September 5, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the fourth child of the late Ruth and Ernest Lee Jordan, Sr. Charlene was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. She graduated from Eastern High School in 1974. She furthered her education at Coppin State College and received a Bachelor of Education degree in 1978. Charlene was raised in a loving and nurturing Christian home. From this union their were no children. She was the aunt and god-mother to many children, which she called her own. Children gravitated to Charlene and she always instilled in them the importance of education. Charlene was employed with the Baltimore City school system for fourteen years, at Robert Poole Middle school as a math and science teacher. Her last employment began in 2008 with the University of Maryland as a 4H educator, where she served until her untimely death. She taught nutrition and fitness education to thousands of youth, secured grants and was a positive role model for her volunteers and colleagues locally and statewide, Charlene will be remembered for her upbeat personality, and her dedication to serving under served youth and the community. Charlene was a fun loving person and was admired by all who knew her, you never heard her complain. She was caring, kind, and always willing to help others, she loved Playing spades and pinochle with her girlfriends, and brother and sister-in-laws, Charlene had a pleasant and witty personality, and people enjoyed being in her company. Charlene and Herbert were considered movers and shakers, she enjoyed participating in many social, civic and community activities, and she enjoyed entertaining their friends in her home. They were both a gracious hostess and host, who always had good conversation and the best food that was prepared by Herbert Charlene departed this life suddenly on October 4, 2015. She leaves to celebrate: her life: a loving and devoted Husband Herbert: twin brother, Charles Jordan (Francine); two aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, her mother-in-law, a devoted friend Patricia Moody; and a host of other relatives and friends CHARLENE CANELLA JORDAN BAKER, was born on September 5, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland.
