Charlean Fields Murray

Charlean was born On December 14, 1954 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Edward C. Fields and Virginia Adean Cobbs Fields Butler. She was the eldest of two children. Charlean’s Christian commitment started at an early age at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was baptized by Father Raymond Shantz on March 27, 1960. Charlean later received the sacrament of Holy Communion and she received her Confirmation on March 8, 1967. As an adult she served as an usher at Holy Rosary Catholic Church until her illness hindered her ability to serve. Charlean’s early childhood development began at Holy Rosary’s daycare center under the direction of Sister Clelia. She attended Richmond Public Schools, and later moved to Henrico County where she graduated from Hermitage High School in 1973. She continued her education studying Business Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert R. Murray on August 28, 1976. From their union two children were born, Brandon and Brandi. Charlean began her career with the State of Virginia with the department of Virginia Information Technologies Agency. She retired from the State of Virginia and continued her career with Northup Grumman as an Information Technology Security Engineer, where she received a 25 year service award. Charlean was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She lived her life to the fullest and touched many with her gentle spirit. Her positive outlook on life was an inspiration to others. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Charlean held an active and supportive role in her children and grandchildren’s endeavors. She was very crafty and did a wonderful job with planning events for friends and family. Charlean enjoyed family gatherings especially during the holiday season. Charlean leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Robert Murray of 39 years; two children Brandon Murray(Amanda)and Brandi Rucker(Tyrone); six granddaughters;S`cence,Amya,Nevaeh,Arianna,Ryann,Aaliyah;mother Virginia Adean Cobbs Fields Butler;sister,Edye Fields; step sister, Angela Spencer, devoted aunt Elsie Fields;mother-in-law,Gloria E. Greene;father-in-law,Rudolph Murray,Sr.;sister-in-law,Linda Hall(Ulysses);brother-in-law,Rudolph Murray,Jr.,and a host of aunts,nieces,nephews,cousins,and other relatives and friends.
