Cecil A. Barrett Jr.

On Wednesday November 6, 2013, Cecil Barrett, Jr. (CJ) departed his life at approximtely 2:30 a.m. In Ridgeley, Maryland. CJ was born on October 14, 1983, at the Columbia Hospital for Women in Washington, D.C. To Cecil and Maureen Barrett. He began his education in the Maryland school system. After his parents were divorced and his mother remarried to Alvin Hunter, Sr., who was in the military, he continued his education at several schools in different states. CJ was a fun loving people person. His favorite saying was “I'm good”. Growing up he loved to chase his big sister around the house and pretend that he was the boss of everything and everybody. He truly enjoyed the company of women and made his first marriage proposal at the age of 6. CJ loved sports, especially football and basketball. He wanted to be a professional football player until he injured his knee. CJ was very.easy to talk to and always available to give advice. No matter what the situation was he could always put a smile on your face. He was very family oriented. At every family gathering CJ would be the life of the party. He was extremely outgoing, carefree, generous, spontaneous, and free spirit. When being untruthful he would stutter. He left his mark on everyone he met. This could be in part because CJ was very animated and had hundred of stories to tell. He also was very vain about his stylish dressing and everthing had to match. You would never see him wearing dirty sneakers. CJ also loved to cook on the grill and invite people over just to ear and enjoy. The truth is, CJ was all about having a good time and making sure everyone else did also CJ was an affectionate and loving son , brother, nephew, father, and friend. He a kind-hearted person who always put his family first. We will miss him greatly. CJ leavces in his memory his father Cecil Barrett, Sr of Suitland, MD; his mother and second father Maureen and Alvin Hunter, Sr., of Smyrna, DE; three sisters Kim Barrett-Brown of Mildenhall, UK; Shaina Williams of Charlotte N.C. And Stacey Barrett of Silver Spring MD; one brother Alvin Hunter, Jr., of San, CA; one daughter Clayla Barrett (Rebecca Ewing) of Smyrna DE; one son Desmon Barret (Angelica Grullon) of Dayton, OH. Other family members left to mourn are his Godmother Aunt and Godfather Paulette and Vernie Walton, of Smyrna, DE; William and Eva Hunter of Baltimore, MD; Mary Barrett of Jamaica; his two nieces Mia, Briana and one nephew Kameron; his girlfriend April Smith pf Ridgley, MD 10 uncles, 14 aunts, cousins and other family and friends.
