Cassandra C. Williams Gilmer

Cassandra Christine Williams-Gilmer, daughter of the late Frank Williams, Sr. and Nellie C. Green, was born on July 28, 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on February 13, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Sandra (as she was affectionately called) received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She was employed at City Hospital, Days Inn and Social Security Administration. Sandra was baptized as a young girl and two of her favorite sayings were, “Oh, my God” and “I just leave it in the hands of the Lord”. In 1996 she married Tyrone Gilmer. Sandra loved her oldies but goodies, discos and could dance you off the floor. She loved trips to casinos, hardly hit for anything but mostly enjoyed the company of family and friends. She leaves to cherish the memories of he love and devotion: her husband, Tyrone Gilmer; two daughters, Christine D. Williams and Desaree C. Autry-Forrester (Angelo Forester, Sr.); one niece/daughter, Kimberly Trent; three sons, James R. Taylor, Jr., Tyrone Gilmer, Sr. (Shanita Gilmer) and Chauncey Gilmer; nine grandchildren, Nicole McPhaul, Julius Burris, Jr., Tyrone Gilmer, Jr., Antonio McPhaul, Tamika Amis, Angelo Forrester, Jr., Destiny Forrester, Tychell Gilmer and Tyrese Gilmer; seven great-gandchildren, Aniya, Joseph, Shania, Jaylen, Jawan, Lyric and Aaliyah; seven sisters, Queenie Christmas (Richard Christmas), Shirley Wise (George Wise), Joanie Williams, Francine Perkins, Renay Williams, Carolyn Morton (Thomas Morton) (preceding he in death, Janie DeShields); seven brothers, Robert Downs, Larry Miles (Tanora Miles), Frank Williams, Kent Williams (preceding her in death, Ronald Mitchener, Sr., Norman Williams, Sr. and Michael Street); mother-in-law, Margaret L. Gilmer; three sisters-in-law, Sheree, Toni and Michelle Gilmer; two brothers-in-law, Stanley and Marty Gilmer; sisters-at heart, Doll, Claudette, Barbara, Margie, Pat, Michelle, Jackie, Juanita, Debbie, Claire, Alice, Paula, Weenie, Ella Mae, Sandra E., Tricia, Cynthia and Jeanetta Williams; one special sister/ cousin, Jetta Heckstall who was there from the beginning until we meet again; daughter-at heart, Lena; mother-at-heart, Ms. Barbara; a dedicated friend for life, Mr. John (Johnny) Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
