Carroll A. Dorsey

CARROLL ANDERSON DORSEY, JR. was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 2, 1948, the son of Virginia Lucille Dorsey and the late Carroll A. Dorsey, Sr. Carroll was one of eight children. After a very lengthy illness, God gently called him home to be at rest on Sunday, April 19, 2015. “Cound Junie” (as he was affectionately called by his siblings) was educated in the Baltimore City School System. Years later he enlisted in the United States States Army on February 13, 1967 and was honorably discharges January 1969. He was employed by Safeguard Automotive Sales and Service formerly known as Blue Chip. August 22, 1970, Carroll married the late Jean P. Fraction Dorsey and from this union one son was born, the late Gerald A. Dorsey. Much later in life, he fell in love with his childhood friend Linda Ann Harris. From that day on they started a family together and were the proud parents of a daughter, April Harris, and a son, Shawn Harris. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized as New Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Harold A. Carter, Sr. There are so many things that he loved to do. Just to name a few: building things – bookcases, tables, etc., gardening, painting; if you needed anything to be fixed, he was the one to call (a trait he inherited from his father). Carroll enjoyed life to it's fullest, his past time was having fun, dancing, partying and taking long walks. It was no surprise to find him knocking on his momma's door after walking from his house all the way down to the Village, just to spend some quality time with her. When Carroll smiled, it was contagious, lit up the room and made everyone around him happy. He often cracked jokes which kept everybody laughing. He was definitely a family man. The love his showed his children and grandchildren was phenomenal. Being the only boy in a family of seven sisters, he unselfishly poured his love on them by showering them with unexpected gifts as acts of affection. Carroll was a “momma's boy” and there was nothing that his mother needed or wanted that he didn't try his best to supply it for her. Cherishing his memory are: his children, April Harris, Shawn Harris, Reginald Harris, Christine Fraction, Alfred Fraction, Alonzo Richardson, Douglas (Tony) Richardson; his son, Gerald A. Dorsey; his daughter, Romaine Fraction Graham; two sisters, Sheree Dorsey and Victoria McCullough preceded him in death; a mother, Virginia Lucille Dorsey; a devoted companion, Linda Ann Harris; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six sisters, Patricia (Alexander), Goldie, Jacqueline, Beverly, Rhonda and Renata' (Eric); one goddaughter, Tess Lawson; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
