Carrie Mae Faggins

CARRIE MAE (NOWELL) FAGGINS was born on July 16, 1936 in Gadsden, South Carolina to the late Paul Nowell and the late Carrie Gilmore. She transitioned from this life on March 20, 2016. Carrie was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, and three children, John Kenneth, Vivian Estelle, and Ernestine Elaine. With great ambitions and fearless heart, Carrie made a decision to move her young family to Baltimore, Maryland in 1969. It was her faith in God that motivated her to obtain her G. E.D., cosmetology license, became a licensed care provider and purchase several homes. For more than twenty years, Carrie was employed with Baltimore City Health Department as a Phlebotomist and Health Aide. When she wasn’t working, Carrie Affectionately known as “Grandbaby”, enjoyed weekend trips with her. Late husband of thirty years, Elmer, managing a small garden, selling Avon, and hosting bus trips to support a family cause. At any time, Grandbaby could be found in her den or at the dining room table talking on the phone with her niece, Linda, She always found time to care for others and opened her home to ill relatives and disadvantaged youth. In 2016, she became a member of Bring it to life Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Art Robinson and Pastor Rose Robinson. She leaves to celebrate her life and to continue her legacy or serving others: her daughter, Minister Paula “Wealth” Bean of Baltimore, Maryland; her son, Mitchell Anthony (Valerie) of Raleigh, North Carolina; her brother, Robert Stokes of Columbia, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Jackie Nowell of East Orange, New Jersey; two granddaughters, Minister LaTia “Tee Tee” Barnes (Minister Barry) of Baltimore, Maryland and Shalya “Lee Lee” Evans of Hyattsville, Maryland; four grandsons, Deacon Darnell “World Traveler” Overton of Baltimore, Maryland Gerard Anthony , Esquire of Brooklyn, New York, and Jamaal and Jonathan Anthony of Raleigh, North Carolina; four great-grandsons, Zaire, Zachari, Zaelin, and Zanye of Baltimore, Maryland; her adopted daughter, Lois Byrd of Columbia, South Carolina; God daughter, Gaynell Coburn of Baltimore, Maryland her “besties”, Long time friends and former coworkers , Beatrice Gattis and Theresa Ellis of Baltimore, Maryland ; her dedicated care provider, Louanne Gatling of Baltimore, Maryland: and a host of nieces, nephews,grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
