Carolyn Ann Trotter

Carolyn went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Saturday,October 16,2010. She was born October 3,1942 in Emporia,Va. She was the daughter of the late Carrie W. Terry. In 1962,Carolyn married James M. Trotter,Sr. from Emporia,VA., and moved to Brooklyn,NY. They became the proud parents of Denise,James Jr.,Sharon and Rodney. Carolyn was a devoted mother to her four children spending fun times playing family games,going to the circus and spending summer vacations visiting their grandmother in Emporia,VA. Carolyn loved exposing the children to educational and learning activities. Carolyn worked tirelessly to provide a stable and loving environment for her children. As her sons and daughters grew into adulthood,Carolyn's devotion and support to her children was always admirable. She was a role model and mentor to them with a caring and giving spirit. After retiring from the New York Telephone Company in 1992 as a computer room supervisor,Carolyn returned to Virginia,moving to the city of Richmond. After the sudden death of her beloved daughter Sharon,Carolyn took on the role of raising Sharon's three young children(Danielle,Dawn and Davon).Carolyn then became employed wih Richmond Public Schools,Department of Finance for over 16 years. Carolyn's outgoing personality,willingness to be a team player and concern for her co-workers and family will always be remembered by them. Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories her beloved children:Denise Williams(Curtis) of Brooklyn NY,James Trotter,Jr.(Pricilla) of Richmond,VA.,Rodney of Brooklyn,NY.Her fourteen grandchildren;Edwin,Danielle,Dawn,Jalissa,Jessica,Davon,Rodney,Dominaisha,Isaiah,Sean,Dayna,Aliah, Prince,Jaden.Her four great-grandchildren;Syheidah,Nasir Adrian,Akilah. Her sisters;Frances Fields,of Buena Vista,VA.;Janie Elnora Terry of Richmond,VA.;one brother James R. Terry,of Alexander,VA. Her niece Tanya of Richmond,VA.,great nieces;Brittany and Sharnae,both of Richmond,VA.;her great-nephew, James of Richmond,VA.; Her devoted and special friend Joanna Hasell of Bronx,NY,God-son Amid of Chesapeake,VA.,God-daughters,Kyra and Tashim both of Brooklyn,NY. and a host of other relatives and friends.
