Carolyn Robinson

CAROLYN L. ROBINSON, daughter of the late Hattie (Scott) and the late Basil Brown, was born on September 17, 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland. On December 21, 2020 at 2:53 p.m., God called His faithful daughter home to be with Him. Carolyn was affectionately known by her family as “Limo Bean”, was the oldest of seven children in which she was the only girl. Carolyn received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She also received her adult vocational training as a clerical secretary and as a dental assistant. Throughout Caroline’s life journey, she held many administrative positions serving the people of Baltimore City. Her last position as a Finance Analyst II which she served for thirty-one years until the Lord called her home. Carolyn Robinson accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at her early age, in which she became a member at The Zion Baptist Church. Later in her adulthood,she became a member of the Ames Memorial United Methodist Church, where she served in many different ministry capacities. Carolyn served on the Evangelistic outreach committee, the Prayer Leadership Committee, the Trustee Board Committee, the Pastor Parish Committee, as well as made reflections and exhortations from the pulpit. Carolyn met Benjamin Vandyke, who was her childhood sweetheart, with whom she had two loving sons, Michael and Benjamin. In her later life, she met and married John Larry Robinson Sr. and from their union, she was blessed with her son John L. Robinson Jr. Carolyn enjoyed numerous activities including reading the bible, ministering the word of God to her coworkers, neighbors, and family members. She also enjoyed watching Western TV shows, TBN Christian network which was her favorite, along with other Christian documentaries. Carolyn also loved to dance, eat crabs, play cards, go to the beach, and attend various family gatherings. Along with her sons, she enjoyed spending time with her devoted nephew Bryant Williams, where they enjoyed their car rides, running errands, and shopping. Carolyn made numerous friends wherever she went and will be sincerely missed. She was a true friend! She was a devoted mother to her three sons, and her two nephews, Lester and Bryant William whom she raised as toddlers. She was also a Matriarch, for her six brothers and many other relatives. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father Basil Brown, stepfather George William II, her mother Hattie Brown-Williams, her son Michael Brown, and two brothers George Williams III and Lester William Sr. Carolyn leaves to celebrate a well-lived life and cherish her memory: her two sons, Benjamin Brown (Evette) and John L. Robinson Jr. (Sharde’); one step-daughter, Dominique Robinson; three grandchildren, Brittani, Nicholas, and Karter; four step-grandchildren, Jimmy, Monet, Kierra, and Deajah; uncle, Randolph Scott Sr, and aunt, Emma Scott; seventeen nieces and nephews, Lil Carolyn, Latonya, Lisa Williams, Manny, Angel, Latoya, Tia, Lil Warren Jr, Shelly, Alisha, Kisha, Toya, Lil Greg Jr, Lisa Brown, Sheena, Jamal, Lester, Bryant; and a host of other relatives, neighbors and friends.
