Carolyn Rose Jackson

C arolyn Rose Morton Jackson, affectionately called (Rosie) was born to the late Charles H. Morton, Sr. and Mary Pamplin Morton on July 20, 1956 in Yonkers, New York. She was preceded in death by her twin siblings, Charles H. Morton Jr. and her beloved sister Janet Morton as well as her younger brother James Morton. C arolyn accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Messiah Baptist Church in Yonkers, New York. Carolyn loved the Lord and all of his glory. She was a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Baptist Church. When she could no longer attend church due to her health, she watched it live online. She was educated in the Yonkers Public Schools systems and graduated early from Yonkers High. She attended Mt. Vernon Cooperative College 74-76. She also attended SUNY at Purchase NY. C arolyn was employed by Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY for several years. She later relocated to Richmond, Virginia to expand her horizons and to be closer to her parents. Carolyn worked for MCV Hospitals, State of Virginia and later on worked for the City of Richmond, from which she recently retired from this year. In 1990, Carolyn married the love of her life, Wayne Jackson of New Kent, Virginia. She was always ready to plan a trip. She loved traveling all over the country with her beloved husband who she absolutely adored. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and most of all her spoiled and faithful companion, Princess Diamond. Carolyn is best known for her hearty laughter and quirky sense of humor. She was truly a DIVA in every sense of the word, not to mention the Queen of Karaoke. She was a caregiver to all who crossed her path. She was kind-hearted, generous and thoughtful. She will be missed tremendously. C arolyn is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Wayne Jackson; daughter, Amma Hayes; son, Jermaine Wright; beloved brother, John Morton (Tonya); aunt, Martha Pamplin of Rehoboth, Virginia; uncle, John Morton of Yonkers, New York, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, devoted cousins, Debbie Jackson and Phyllis Hines and her lifelong friend, Patrice Wilson.
