Carmella Ann Studgeon

On February 11, 1964, a beautiful angel was sent by God to James and Dilsie Crews. They named her Carmella meaning “Golden, “and that she was. She affectionately became known as “Meadows.” Carmella was the fourth born to James and Dilsie, who both preceded her death. Carmella or “Meadows” moved to Richmond, VA from Cartersville, VA in the mid 70’s as a child. Here is where she met many friends who would be by her side for a lifetime. This is also where she met and fell in love with her husband, Duane Studgeon. They married and would have two beautiful daughters, Teairra and Asante`. Meadows loved spending time with her family and friends, and would often spend time on the weekends with her older sister, Arlene. You could find them in the living room watching Lifetime movies and eating Sunday dinner together. She loves spending time with her grandchildren: Christian and Elijah, to whom she known as “Gannie.” She was a great cook as well as caretaker, as she devoted her time assisting her husband with taking care of her mother-in-law whom she loved dearly. Carmella leaves to cherish these memories and lifetime of love to her husband, Duane Studgeon; two daughters, Teairra Studgeon and Asante` Studgeon; grandchildren, Christian and Elijah Graves;siblings,Arlene Yates(Harry),Lewis Cochran(Serita),Keith Crews, Curtis Crews(Teresa),Jennifer Burgess,Vonnita Johnson; two brothers-in-law, Larry Studgeon and George Studgeon(Lorraine);step daughters;Chanel,Candice and Angela Burgess; and a host of uncles,aunts,nieces,nephews,cousins and friends. A Lifelong Friend, Martha Howard. As well as, dear friends, Kevin and Kim Burton, Donald Taylor, Sandra Woodson and Phyllis Anderson. The last year of my wife's life she was on fire for the Lord. Having bible studies several times a week. Carmella had gotten so close to the Most High, she even learned to praise the Lord in English and in the original Hebrew language. She feared the Lord with a pure heart. Always wanting to please Him. She knew that the Lord said if you love me you will do my commandments, and yes Carmella did. From resisting eating unclean foods to observing the Sabbath. My wife knew the time was short and she was surrounded by armies. Carmella sought the kingdom with all her heart. She knew exactly what 1Thessalonians 4:16 meant. She knew the Heavenly Fathers ways and thoughts are higher than ours. Ironically, Carmella's last bible study was based on 2 Corinthians 6:17. So be happy for my wife, she fought a good fight and won. Duane Studgeon
