Cardova E. Wright

A Life Well Lived A Time to be born and Educated Cardova Ethel Blake Wright, daughter of the late Shirley Blake and Lucy P. Ransom, was born on February 9, 1927, in Baltimore, Maryland. She began her formal education in the Baltimore public school system and completed her school education a GED certificate A Time to Love Cardova, was affectionately called “Nannie” and “Nay” but she preferred “Mrs. Wright” Mrs. Wright was married to the late Henderson Wright on November 8, 1952. Mr. Wright was a merchant seaman which allowed them to travel and experience various cultures all over the world. From the holy unio, no biological children were born. But God saw fit for them to nurture and parent their bonus children: Thomas, Frank, Paula. Cardora raised her children in a Christian in a Christian and loving home. The joys of her life were her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. As much as she loved her family, she truly loved the Lord more. A Time to Worship Cardova accepted the Lord as her personal Savior early in life and was baptized at Eastern United Methodist Church on September 19, 1958, under the pastorate of the late Reverend Calvin P. Crosson. She was active in Sunday School and served on the Evangelism Committee, the Golden Links, the Senior Ministry, the Usher Board, holding various leadership positions, and Women Society of Christian Service (now known as the United Women in Faith). Cardova was an active member of astern until her health began to fail. During her life struggles, was faithful to rely on the word of God and her favorite scripture,23rd Psalm, A Psalm of David. A Time to Work Cardova worked outside of the home and began her career as a factory worker, making men’s suits She then changed careers and began working at the Noxell Corporation, a Proctor and Gamble subsidiary, where she retired after many years of dedicated service. Cardova, not content to just home idle, began working as a home health aide She ended her employment to care for Henry, as she Lovingly called her husband, due to his health issues. After her husband ‘s death, Cardova remained active in her community and her Christian faith, She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles, going to casinos and making floral centerpieces for family and friends. Cardova also enjoyed national and international traveling, entertaining in her, and line dancing at the Center. A Time to go Home After a lengthy illness and surrounded by Linnette, Paula, and Butchie, Carova quietly accepted her Heavenly Father’s call and entered into eternal rest on January 18, 2023. She was 95 years old. She leaves to cherish her memories of a life well lived; her loving daughter, Paula; one son-in-law, Lawrence (Butchie); her brother, Shirley Blake; her oldest niece, Elizabeth Allen; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; grandchildren, great grandchildren great- great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, a Goddaughter, and many dear relatives and friends, especially her dearest friend, Tena Giles, Cardova was preceded in death by two sons; Thomas Jones and Frank Bynum; one brother, Frank Blake; two sister Elizabth Blake and Louise Blake; a special friend, Book Weaver and dear friend , Eva Walters.
