Calvin E. Richardson

CALVIN R. RICHARDSON, the son of Annie McCall and Irving Richardson, was born in Anne Arundel County, Maryland on August 28, 1940. He departed this life on December 27, 2011. Calvin received his education from Wiley H. Bates High School in Anne Arundel County. After high school he enlisted in the United States Military and served in the United States Navy. After serving his country he began his career for the Maryland State Department of Nursery, Maryland Paper Company, United States Postal Service and retired from the Bethlehem Steel Plant in Sparrows Point, Maryland, where he worked in the Penn Wood Wharf area for over twenty years. Calvin’s Christian journey began at the Metropolitan Methodist Church in Severn, Maryland where he received his early Christian education. Later in life he joined Centennial Caroline Street United Methodist Church in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was a member of the United Methodist Men and sang on the Male Chorus . Calvin loved baseball and played with the Red Caps Ball Team. He also loved fishing and cooking. Calvin was preceded in death by: his wife, Catherine B. Richardson who passed away on March 3, 2011. He missed her so much. It left an emptiness in his heart, but the memories kept him strong; sisters, Christine Richardson and Doris Hargrove. Calvin leaves to cherish great memories: his children, Shelia White, Holly Stevens, Deanna Richardson and Belinda Richardson; two sons-in-law, Russell Stevens and Albert Williams; grandchildren, Willie White, Latoya White, Nicole Cuffe, Angel Richardson, Mykia Richardson and Danise Williams; great-grandchildren, Anaya Richardson and Kameron Bray; two brothers, Irving “Pete” Richardson, Jr. and Thomas Richardson (Edie); three sisters, Ruth Edwards, Lorraine Ennels (Ivy) and Genevieve Hale. Calvin also leaves to cherish very fond and great memories: his non-biological family and children that he accepted as his own: Marie Marshall-Duncan, Bertha (Bert) McKinney, Richard Jr., Stephanie, Marcus and James Marshall; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sons-in-law, Robert McKinney (Nick) and Wade Duncan; four sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law; and a host of other in-laws, relatives and friends.
