Brian F. Scott

Brian Francis Scott was born on May 3, 1956 to Daisy and the late Harry J. Scott. He was called home after a lengthy illness on September 19, 2008.As the baby boy of his family, Brian was loved dearly by his parents and siblings.Brian was educated in the Catholic School System. He graduated from St. Ann’s Catholic School in the top of his class. He received a scholarship to attend Columbia University in New York City and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. He also graduated from Browne University with a Master’s Degree in Business.Brian had a love for the game of basketball. He played on a few national championship teams in the 1960’s for St. Ann’s C.Y.O. Basketball Team. While in high school at Loyola Blakefield, he was the starting point guard for his team. In college while carrying a full course load in the classroom, he was also a member of the Columbia University Basketball Team. After leaving college Brian played in a few of the recreational leagues. Brian was often seen in the gym or on the playground at School #7 teaching younger players how to shoot, dribble and learn the game of basketball. He truly had a love for the game and gave his all back into the game of basketball.Brian was a well-educated child, as you can see from his school background. He was often called whiz kid, bookworm, and “the nerd “. As long as Brian was around, you did not need a dictionary or an atlas, for that matter. There was not a word he could not spell or understand. Homework was never a problem for anyone as long as Brian was around. He had a way with books that was second to none. He often helped kids and his siblings in their educational needs. “He was one smart cookie “.After college, Brian went to work for Eastern Stainless Steel as a sales rep. While there he was appointed as the Northeast Sales Rep. Brian also was a tax preparer. Brian owned and operated a successful bar called “The Flamingo Lounge”.Brian leaves to mourn; Daisy Scott (mother); four brothers, Russell (Phyllis), Leonard (Angie), Keith, Glen (Lowand) and two sisters, Delores (Randolph) and LaShore; two uncles, three aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including a very close childhood friend, Victor March.Brian’s family members who have preceded him in death are; his father Harry J.Scott; brother, Harry J.Scott Jr., niece Denise, and nephews Glen (Fingers) and Steven. Brian will surely be missed by family, friends and loved ones.
