Brenda J Wilson

Brenda J. Wilson was born on August 30, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the oldest of three born to the late Clarence Jackson Sr. and Bernice Jackson. On Sunday, April 16, 2023, the Lord opened His everlasting arms and granted His beloved daughter permission to receive her just reward; the opportunity to alleviate all pain and suffering and dwell in paradise forever. Brenda received her formal education through the Baltimore City Public School System, in which she had the opportunity to be part of Eastern High School’s first integrated class. Upon graduating from high school, Brenda went on to graduate from Morgan State University with her Bachelor's Degree and soon transitioned to Loyola College where she received her Master's Degree in Education. After graduating with her Master’s Degree, Brenda reunited with the Baltimore City Public School System as a math teacher, giving back to the same school system that prepared her for her future as a teacher. She taught middle and high school students. Brenda was raised in a Christian home where she received a solid foundation in Christian living. Brenda, her younger brothers, and close friends enjoyed playing the piano and singing church hymns while at home. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. She remained a faithful member at Ebenezer until her entire family joined New Life Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Maxwell Johnson. Brenda sang on the choir and served at New Life until transitioning to Mt. Zion Hill Baptist Church where she faithfully served by singing on the choir for many years and serving as President of the Pastor’s Aide for multiple years. Brenda was united in holy matrimony in August 1979 to William Michael Wilson, Sr. The two remained married for 32 years and were blessed with one son, Ryan G. Wilson. Brenda was a loving wife and mother. She took pride in caring for her family. She was a planner and was very specific with the vision that she had for her family. Brenda modeled the morals, values, and behaviors that she wanted to extend to her son Ryan, and eventually to her granddaughter Alana. As a teacher who understood the importance of education, Brenda made it her duty to ensure that her son was placed in the best possible academic settings. Brenda enjoyed watching television shows such as Law & Order SVU, Murder She Wrote, The Andy Griffith Show, and all the Lifetime Movies. Her other hobbies included gardening, going on cruises and shopping trips, and engaging in social conversation; Brenda could shop and talk for hours without taking a break. During her time on Earth, Brenda was a blessing to many. Through her loving and nurturing ways, she touched the lives of her family, friends, and the thousands of students that she taught. Brenda was a very strong-willed woman who found her strength in the “Word of God.” Brenda’s favorite gospel song was “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus.” She would often share God’s Blessings with others and pray for those experiencing the trials and tribulations that life can bring. Even during her illness, Brenda’s faith never faltered. She could be heard calling on the Lord by saying “Precious Lord Take My Hand.” Brenda was preceded in death by her husband William Sr. and brothers Clarence, Jr. and Lawrence Sr. Brenda’s memory will be cherished by: a loving and devoted son, Ryan G. Wilson (Heather); granddaughter Alana Wilson; Aunt, Peggy Robinson; four nephews Clarence H. Jackson III (Flora), Keith E. Jackson (Conchetta), Lawrence E. Jackson, Jr. (Jovan), Lamont H. Jackson Sr. (Eutoby); one niece, Jocelyn B. Wallace (Henry); special friend Gloria Wyatt (Tom) and a host of cousins and friends.
