Brenda A. Gonsalves

Brenda A. Gonsalves daughter of the late William and Helen M.R. Venable was born July 22, 1943 in Baltimore Maryland. She suddenly departed this life on July 9, 2016 Brenda attended Baltimore City Public School. Upon completion of her education she gained employment at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a lab technician in the Cardiology Department. Later, she transferred to medical records from where she retired after 45 years of service. Brenda was good at her job, well respected and liked by co-workers and management alike. On June 25, 1960 at the tender age of 16, she met and married her main man George (bka Tony). This marriage lasted 56 years until his death on April 9,2016. Although Brenda and Tony had no children of their own, they did experience what it was to be a parent. They nurtured Samantha Wilson and Michael Venable from birth until their passing. Brenda loved them, listened to them, and never judged them. Even through her sickness she kept them close to her heart and on her mind. Together Brenda and Tony made a home at 707 Beaumont Ave. Their home was full of fun, love, food, family and friends. The motto "what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas" applied to 707. Brenda was a very generous person and everyone always had a good time when she was around. She also enjoyed fishing and crabbing with Tony when she wasn't hanging with her sister and brother, Shirley and Woody. Brenda accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior after her friend Theresa shared God's salvation plan with her. Not too many days ago Brenda heard Tony calling for her to join him in Heaven. Brenda took her last breath and grabbed his hand, got her wings and flew upward forever free. Brenda is survived by her to God children Samantha Wilson and Michael Venable; five sisters,Shirley Carroll, Denise (Leroy) Harrison,Mallory Venable, Evelyn Carter and Carol Butcher; four brothers, William (Barbara) Venable, Don Venable, William A. Venable Jr. and Raynard Venable; five sisters-in-law, Phyllis James, Pearl Corprew, Ruth Green, Genevieve Sarah and Dorothy Gonsalves; brother-in-law, Roosevelt "Rabbit" Henley and two devoted friends, Theresa Jones and Bill Boyd. Also proceeding her in death her loving husband George "Tony" Gonsalves; her mother, Helen M.R. Venable and father William A. Venable Sr.
