Brenda Victoria Gibson

BRENDA VICTORIA GIBSON, daughter of the late John F. Wells, Sr. and Evelyn B. Wells, was born on September 3, 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on March 1, 2012 at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson, Maryland. Brenda was raised in Baltimore, Maryland and received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She was employed at Frank Frank and Scherr Law Firm as a Receptionist. Brenda was the ‘MATRIARCH’ of the Wells family. She was the oldest child of fifteen children consisting of eight boys and seven girls. She was the glue that held the Wells family together. She was a great mother figure to her brothers and sisters. She had too many talents to name them all, but most of all she loved cooking, entertaining and helping her family. Brenda was a believer in Jehovah God and prior to her death she was having regular Bible studies with her sister, Katherine Jones. Through her studies she learned that Jehovah intended for his creations to live forever on earth. (Psalm 37:10, 11, 29) She was very much looking forward to the new systems of things where there’d be no death, no mourning and no pain. (Revelation 21:4) Brenda was affectionately known to many as “Me-Me”. She was a very honest and straight-forward woman that spoke her mind no matter what. Her personality gained her many friends and acquaintances. She was a devoted person, self-sacrificing and was truly loved by everyone she knew. She made a lasting impression on everyone. She knew a wide range of people and would do all she could for everyone even at a great expense to herself. Brenda taught the importance of being prepared, organized and getting your life in order. She never gave up. She never let circumstances prevent her from doing what she set out to do. She was kind, intelligent, resourceful, filled with wisdom and resilient. She taught us it was never too late to apologize, make it right and start anew. She will be greatly missed by everyone . Brenda leaves to cherish her fond memory: three daughters, Pamela Brown (George L.), Lisa Rusk and Roberta Cleveland (Al); one son, Mark Wells, Sr.; thirteen grandchildren, Brenda Campbell, Dajuan Campbell, Rogee Dance, Crystal Wells, Charles Singletary III, Racheal Singletary, Robert Singletary, Lorenzo Wells, Mark Wells Jr, Segan Wells, Breanne Wells, Tyson Wells and Kye Wells; twenty great-grandchildren Tanisha Harris, Antonio Harris, Antonae Harris, Dajuan Campbell, Devon Campbell, Myasia Wells, Servante Wells, Sincere Wells, Szion Wells, Amirah Boyd, Arayah Boyd, Amayah Boyd, Treshawn Jones, Jerimayah Hampton, Charles Singletary IV, Jaylon Wells, De’Angelo Wells, Makayla Wells, Mya Wells and Jaylin Jacobs; five sisters, Peggy Wells, Ruth McTeer, Katherine Jones, Marie Calhoun and Rachel Wells; five brothers, Willard Mack, John Wells Jr, William Wells Sr, David Wells and George Wells Sr; sixteen nieces, Robin Pollard, Nikki Brown, Roxanne Wells, Loretta Wells, Carla Cheeves, Rene Vaughn, Tanisha Green, Felicia Wells, Latoya Walker, Tori Wells and Evelyn Heckstall, Daphne Brown, Theresa Carter, Tandricka Calhoun, Raquel Wells and Linda Bates; fifteen nephews, Lamont Brown, John Wells III, James Wells, Albert Cooper III, Chris McTeer, Charles McTeer, George Wells Jr., Anthony Calhoun Jr., Richard Wells, Corie Wells, Joseph Wells Jr., Jeffery Wells Sr., William Wells Jr., Keith Wallace and Tony Wallace; and a long-time companion, Carl McCleod. She has three brothers, one sister, one nephew and one great-grandchild who or have preceded her in death and they are: Benjamin Wells, Joseph Wells Sr., Kenneth Wells, Mary Brown, Jason Wells and Cayden Singletary. She also leaves to cherish her fond memory a host of other relatives and friends.
