Blannon Kevin Hunter

Life’s Legacy Blannon Kevin Hunter was born on September 3, 1964, at Harlem Hospital in New York City to Marcia Hunter and the late Blannon Craig. On the early morning of Saturday, June 13, 2026, Blannon received his heavenly wings at his home. Waiting to welcome him with open arms is his beloved sister, Natasha “Nikki” Lee, and daughter, Shannon Wise. At the young age of 18, Blannon proudly answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army National Guard. He faithfully served from December 15, 1982, until December 14, 1988, and was honorably discharged. Blannon met the love of his life, Liza Roman, when they were in the fifth grade at P.S. 163. Although life took them on separate paths for a time, fate brought them back together. After sharing 28 wonderful years of love and commitment, they were united in marriage on November 15, 2024. While they were blessed with nearly two years as husband and wife, their love story spanned almost three decades. Though born and raised in New York, Blannon built his life and planted deep roots in Virginia, where he raised his beautiful family and created countless treasured memories. Whether fishing, boating, hosting backyard barbecues, or enjoying amusement and water parks with loved ones, he cherished every opportunity to spend time with family. A hardworking and determined entrepreneur, Blannon owned a successful cleaning franchise and later operated his own box truck business. Blannon was a devoted Christian and a God-fearing man who accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at From the Heart Church. He also faithfully attended St. Paul’s Baptist Church, where he continued to grow in his faith. A loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, loving son, and loyal friend, Blannon was known for his unwavering dedication to his family. He worked tirelessly to provide for those he loved and always made sure everyone was cared for. His generous heart, strong work ethic, and selfless spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Blannon truly lived life to the fullest. He had an infectious smile that could light up any room and a wonderful sense of humor that kept everyone laughing. In his free time, Blannon enjo.yed listening to music, rapping, dancing, playing pool, and watching movies. Above all, he loved to cook. His tuna salad was legendary, and his potato salad was a family favorite. And famous oxtails were another specialty, oh my! Blannon leaves to cherish precious memories: his beloved wife, Liza Roman-Hunter; children, Chandi, Joshua, Joey, Justin, Alissa; adored grandchildren, Simeon, Dash + 14 (by marriage); mother, Marcia Hunter; step-mother, Brenda Craig; brothers, Blannon “RedMan” and Barry; aunts, Emily, Mickie, and Brenda; uncles, Lamont and Ray; cousins, Anthony Craig, Anthony “Sherm, Otis “Duke”, Donna, Demetria, Tymesha, and many other beloved cousins; two nieces; and a host of extended family members and dear friends. Blannon will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. His warm smile, and his heartfelt conversations will remain in the hearts of his family and friends. Rest in peace, Blannon! You showed great strength and courage throughout your life. God loves you, and so do we. Your memory will live on in the love you shared with us all.
