Betty Roxanne Jeffries

On August 31, 1960 at City Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, God revealed some of His greatest work ever in a gorgeous little baby girl, Betty Roxanne Johnson, to her proud parents, the late George Thomas Johnson, Sr. and he late Bety Louise Johnson. Betty, better known as “Little Betty” or “Net”, was “family folk” at a very young age. Little Betty was a second mother to all her siblings. She was gentle, supportive, protective, and just gave hem whatever they needed the best she could. She cooked delicious meals, kept the house straight, and her siblings very close to her. Little Betty attended Baltimore Public Schools and took some courses at CCB. Little Betty was a perfect combination of her mother and father. Everyone she met and everything she touched, she would bathe in elegant affection. Little Betty was easy going, out going, funny, open minded, inspiring, generous, pleasant, loving and committed to treating everyone like family. She was the life of every event. She enjoyed hosting huge family get togethers as often as possible; cooking plenty of tasty dishes, good music, lots of dancing, playing cars, funny jokes, good food, “talking trash” and family (even if they weren’t a relative). On March 25, 1980 Little Betty and the late Lamont Patton became the proud parents of charming Lamonica Jeanette Patton. Shortly after having baby Monica, Little Betty found herself an overly devoted single parent. Being at home with her daughter, she picked up a hobby and became an expert in home interior design. Betty knew the colors, organization schemes, shops, what was it in and what was it out in. Once baby Monica went to school, Betty went to work in nursing care for some years. Next, she was a cashier clerk at a grocery store and later, she worked at a condominium as a switchboard operator. She only embraced careers that allowed her to express her continuous melody of love. In 1984, Betty would meet and greet a gentleman named James Jeffries. They started seeing each other and dating. They really enjoyed each other’s company. The both of them came from totally different walks of life but committed accenting each other’s lives completely. Betty had found the love of her life, Mr. Jeff. This romance would last for the rest of her life. She was very outspoken about her knight in full shining armor. On April 11, 1947, Betty and James Jeffries became the proud parents of a delightful baby boy, Christopher Jeffries. Unfortunately for the couple, baby Christopher was born very sickly. Betty and James vowed to do the best they could for baby Christopher and daughter, Lamonica, to keep their family together. Mr. Jeff did whatever he needed to do to keep his Betty and his kids happy. The couple was very protective of their kids, baby Christopher being born sick made them that way. After a while their baby Christopher was a lot better and Betty graduated from computer school. In 1994, the couple was getting themselves together to become grandparents. Betty would lose her mother almost at the same time, their daughter Lamonica would make them elated grandparents to Trinia. The family grew larger with the addition of Brea, Kaiyaun, Taiyaun, Troy, Madden and great-grandchild Janiya sealed their family completely. Betty was a daunting grandmother. Lamonica had the babies, but they were Betty’s babies. She leaves to mourn: her gentle loving husband, Mr. James Jeffries; her united band of children; her one and only daughter, Lamonica Patton; her four sons, Christopher, Roland, Sean and Jamie Jeffries; her three grandchildren, Trina Baker, Brea’ Baker and Madden “Little Betty” Cooper; her three grandsons, Kai’yaun and Ti’yaun Leach and Troy Cooper III; her one and only great-granddaughter, Janiya Mosby; her three sisters, Theresa Smith, Nadine Harrison and Ruby Johnson; her five brothers, Anthony Marble, Michael Johnson, Garrett Johnson, John Johnson and Ehfrem Johnson; seven half sisters; two half brothers; her mother-in-law.Alice Jeffries; three sisters-in-law, Glennis Short, Glenda Frisby and Davia Johnson; wo brothers-in-law, Theodore and James; one soon to be son-in-law, Troy Cooper, Jr.; nine aunts; six uncles; one great-aunt, Bernice Greene; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family (everyone she knew).
