Betty A. Chisolm

A Time To Be Born BETTY ANN CHISOLM was born on April 23, 1939 to the late Joe Foster, Jr, and the late Lugenia Foster in Baltimore, Maryland. She received her education in the public school system of Baltimore County, Maryland Betty also completed the Medix School of Nursing and attended the Sojourner Douglass College. A Time To Love Betty was joined in Holy Matrimony to the Late Roosevelt Chisolm, Sr., and out of this union five children were born, Arneise , Velda, Roosevelt Jr., Bonita and Lisa. From a very early age, Mom loved the Lord first and then her family. She was baptized at the New Shiloh Baptist in Turners Station, Maryland. Later, she joined the New Pilgrim Baptist Church where she remained an active and supportive member until death. She served in many ministries and served in different capacities. Pastors Aid, Scholarship Ministry, Youth Ministry Advisor and Organized Dance Ministry. A Time To Plant Betty was employed at Baltimore Sun Paper, later she followed her passion for youth, by obtaining a position as a Teacher's Aide in the Baltimore City Public School System. Betty loved to serve her God and her church, and she had an undying passion for the youth. Betty was a very determined person and lived her life to the fullest. When she wanted something to happen, she made it happen! She loved people and received love in return. During her lifetime She too busy to extend a helping hand to her family or her church family. She was jolly, robust person who gave of herself tirelessly and unselfishly. She was courageous and displayed great strength, and even in her illness, she taught us the great virtue of faith. She was dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. A Time To Die On Monday, November 14, 2011 Betty A. Chisolm departed this earthly life. She leaves to cherish: five loving children and their spouses, Arneise Benson, Velda and Vance Jones, Sr., Bonita Hall, Roosevelt and Clarissa Chisolm and Lisa Trice; twenty grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Arlene Brice; three brothers, Willie James Foster, Jerome Foster and William Alphonso Foster; one brother-in-law, Theodore Brice, three sister-in-law, Martha Foster, Debra Foster and Linda Foster; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
