Bernard Dean Ogburn

Bernard Dean Ogburn was born in South Hill, Virginia on February 5, 1967 to Fannie Louise Woody. Bernard passed away on February 4, 2020 at Parham Doctors' Hospital. Bernard was the mother of one child, Julius Demond Ogburn. She was a strong, loving, stern parent. A parent who instilled morals, values, manners, ethics, dignity and a strong work ethic into her son. Bernard went to school at John Marshall High School where she graduated in 1984. She went on to work at Monument Life for 20 years where she retired and started her own successful business named New Beginnings Concierge and Financial Service in Richmond, Virginia for the last 10 years. She enjoyed working, learning new things and had a strong desire to grow her business. Bernard also enjoyed traveling, journaling, writing, collecting antiques, shopping and cheering for her favorite team, which was the Dallas Cowboys. She also enjoyed celebrating and a good party. Bernard sought a personal relationship with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ early in her life. She knew the Lord as her personal saviour and allowed him to be the leader in her life. She even kept a book of special scriptures that she relied on to help her get through daily life. Bernard was loving person who was very generous and gave to the less fortunate. She was also the neighborhood mother, who kept the neighborhood inline, and a second mom to many. Although she was a single mom, she always took good care of her son Julius who never lacked for anything. Bernard was determined to see people become successful, so she would use her business knowledge to assist folks to grow their business to a higher level. Bernard's main focus and passion was helping the elderly and disabled maintain residence in their home to avoid going into a skilled nursing facility. She was very successful at what she did, and many gravitated towards her passionate spirit. She was predeceased by her brother Tony Ogburn. Bernard leaves cherished memories to: her son, Julius Demond Ogburn; mother, Fanny Louise Woody; brother, Douglas Ogburn; sisters, Juanita Shaed, Dorothy Lee Ogburn, Dorothy Marie Ogburn, Susan Ogburn and Debra Ogburn; devoted cousins Tanesha Cook and James Cook; as well as, a host of other relatives and friends.
