Beatrice Kittrell

BEATRICE LORRAINE KITTRELL was born April 23, 1919 in Ayden, North Carolina to the late Cornelius and Martha Kittrell. Beatrice, affectionately known as Bea, departed this life on Monday, January 7, 2008.Bea recently moved to Baltimore, Maryland to reside with her son and daughter-in-law, who provided around the clock care during her extended illness. She first moved to Washington, D.C. following her siblings' footsteps to find suitable employment She then decided to move to Brooklyn, New York where she resided and worked for over sixty years until her relocation to Baltimore. Bea worked as a clerical assistant in some prestigious financial and banking institutions such as Merrill Lynch and Hanover Manufacturers Trust. She retired from Morgan Chase Bank.Bea had a strong compelling love for her family. She cherished her brothers and sister; and just loved her nieces and nephews unconditionally. With her charismatic, sophisticated, fashionable, and fun loving personality, she welcomed all of her family to he Brooklyn home where she provided the best hospitality. She would cook and entertain to ensure we were comfortable and felt at home Baked turkey wings were her specialty and making us laugh was her forte. She was mutually loved by the family for all of her attention and affection.Throughout her many blessed years, she always in the company of and cared for by her faithful devoted Sister Nan and loyal nephew Eldon.Bea was a born again Christian who loved the Lord, and spent much time reading her bible and the "Daily Word" devotional materials, She was also an avid follower of current events, New York and national politics. She consistently, every day, read the newspapers and could converse intelligently on the current and past events as well as political administration of New York City and the country. Beatrice loved to work crossword puzzles which were another one of her favorite pastimes.Bea leaves to cherish her memory: one loving and committed son, Frank Rogers and daughter-in-law, Emma Rogers; grandsons, Frank Jr., Victor, Tony, and Brandon; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; beloved sister, Nannie Kittrell Logan, special nephew, Eldon Kittrell; many other nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters, Arthur, Rosa Lee, Howard, Freddie Hebrew, Lola, Matthew, Daniel (Dank), Cornelius (C.J), Thurman, Robert (Mark), and Elijah (Bud).
