Barbara M. Brice

BARBARA MIRIAM BRICE, daughter of the late James Edward Hynson, Sr. and Anna Elizabeth Tiller, was born on November 1, 1948 in Chestertown, Maryland. She departed this life on December 3, 2005 after a terminal illness. Barbara Miriam Brice received her education at Henry Highland Garnet High School in Chestertown, Maryland. Barbara attended Trenton Community College in Trenton, New Jersey where she received her business degree. Upon completion of her education, Barbara became a full-time employee at Bell Telephone Company in Baltimore, Maryland, Federal Bureau of Investigations in Washington, DC, United Health Care in Baltimore, Maryland and the Baltimore County Circuit Court System. Barbara's foundation in church began at a young age. Psalms 100 (Old Testament) was the first scripture that she memorized. Barbara later became an active member of Pennsylvania Avenue A.M.E. Zion Church contributing to various activities including crown ministries and bible study. Despite her illness, Barbara always kept a smile on her face and consistently helped others. Barbara Miriam Brice was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister Helen Elizabeth Newnam and son Eric Sherman Brice, Jr. Barbara Miriam Brice leaves to cherish: her loving husband, Eric Sherman Brice; three daughters, Melissa Brice, Tamara Rhue and husband Damon Rhue, Ericka Brice and fiancŽe Courtney Smith; three sisters, Carolyn Stansbury and husband, Calvin Stansbury of Marydel, Delaware, Hester Newnam and husband Julius Newnam, Lavern Blake and husband Adrian Blake of Chestertown, Maryland; two brothers, James Hynson, Jr. and wife Eileen Hynson of Lacada, California, Stevenson Hynson and wife Gail Hynson of Camden, Delaware; two sisters-in-law, Bernadette Clinkscales and husband Eugene Clinkscales of Bear, Delaware, Yolanda Brown and husband Roger Brown of Chestertown, Maryland; one brother-in-law, James Cann, Jr. and wife, Linda Cann of Aberdeen, Maryland; nine grandchildren, Shannon and Elissa Willis, Kantori, Kyrell, and Derrick McDowell, Shamon Rhue, Shae Hawkins, Tashawna Howard, and Jonathan Robinson; three godchildren, Shakoor Smith, Derrick and Eric Harris. A special blessing to Samuel and Louise Tiller of Burlington, New Jersey, mother-in-law, Alice Cann of Chestertown, Maryland; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins and friends. Barbara made numerous friends whereever she went and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew her. She was always a true friend and a devoted Christian.
