Barbara Mae Green

Barbara May Green, the only child born to the late Frisco and Lillie Brown was born July 26, 1939 in Baltimore, Md. She departed this life at home on Wednesday April 19, 2023. Barbara received her education in the public schools in Baltimore City. She graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in June 1957. Barbara joined Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in January of 1950. At a young age she became an active member of the Junior Choir and the Youth Choir, In her adult life and still a member in good standing she became an active member of the Hospitality Ministry. Barbara started her career as a Senior Clerk Typist for the City of Baltimore at was known as the Baltimore City Municipal Building. She held thst position for many years. Barbara met Lawrence at his cousin's wedding. Barbara was a bridesmaid and Lawrence was a groomsman. Little did they know this chance encounter at this wedding would lead to their own approximately 4 years later. On March 22, 1964 they united as one in Holy Matrimony. That union produced two daughters.-Tracy (now deceased) and Tara. For a few years after Tracy's birth , Barbara was a stay at home mom. Eventually Barbara joined the work force. She was a medical secretary for Dr. Ernest O. Brown (no relation) After nine years she worked at the old Lutheran Hospital for ten years . She then transferred her skills to the banking industry, working at First National Bank ( later known as All First Bank). She retired in December 2005 from M & T Bank. Barbara was a kind, sweet -matured person. She would always greet you with a smile, soft voice and encouraging words. "Sweetie or Honey" were her loving words of endearment we all longed to hear. She tirelessly took care of everyone around her without a single thought of herself, even when she was the one who needed to be taken careof. She was an outstanding daughter, wife, mom, mema, aunt, cousin and friend who will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy and mom, Lillie. She leaves to cherish her memory; husband Lawrence; daughter, Tara (Eric); granddaughters, Shyanne and Nahilah; grwat granddaughter, Ayla and a host of relatives and friends
