Barbara Fowlkes

BARBARA ANN FOWLKES was born on January 31, 1953, to the late Inez Parker and Jimmy Jones. On May 27, 2026, Barbara peacefully departed this life at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Barbara was a woman of truth, strength, and unwavering love. She was known for her remarkable sense of humor, even during life’s most difficult moments. To many, she was affectionately known as “Momma,” a title that reflected her nurturing spirit and the countless lives she touched. Barbara always extended a helping hand to those in need, offering wisdom, encouragement, and support whenever she could. Family was the center of Barbara’s life. She loved deeply and shared that love freely with everyone around her. Her kindness, generosity, and warm smile brightened the lives of family, friends, neighbors, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Many looked forward to seeing her smiling face each day, and her presence brought comfort and joy to countless people. Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved sons, Audwyn Parker, Darnett V. Anderson and Kelvin L. Anderson; her cherished grandchildren, Darnett Blackwell, Demetrius Blackwell, Denaee Blackwell, Desiree Blackwell, Samantha Anderson, and Serayah Anderson. She is also survived by her loving sister, Rue Taylor, her only surviving sibling; along with a large and loving extended family including Lisa Franklin, Nina Reed, Stacy Anderson, Gloria Colbert, and Latonya Williams. Barbara’s memory will also be treasured by Rue Taylor and Thomas Taylor; Martin Early; Eugene Early and his children Liam, Mansa, Major, and Jahzara Early; Juanita Green and her children Jamarion Essence Green and Evonne Taylor; Loretta Robinson and her family, including Sabrina Robinson, Dionne Robinson, Denzel Robinson, Darrell Robinson, and Gary Tyrone Batty Jr.; Mary Watkins and her children James Wilson, Zyairra Green, and Wesley Green; Rock Robinson and his children; along with many other relatives, friends, and loved ones whose lives were forever enriched by her presence. Barbara’s legacy is one of compassion, resilience, faith, and unconditional love. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered
