Barbara Ann Banks

Barbara Ann Banks,daughter of Fannie Pleasants and the late Herman Pleasants,Sr.,departed this life peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on May 2,2011. She was the eldest of four children. She overcame many difficult sitiations,such as in one occasion she was given 48 hours to live and surpassed that time by many,many years. she also had many hospital challenges,but was "Victorious"over all of them in spite of the diagnosis. Her faith was an inspiration to all that she came in contact with. At an early age,Barbara joined Refuge Temple under the leadership of Bishop John W. Purnell. Barbara was a church builder,she later returned to Refuge Temple under the leadership of Bishop Milton J. Hunt where she served faithfully for many years. She later branched out to the Refuge Assembly of Yahweh in Powhatan,Virginia where she faithfully served and matured spiritually under the leadership of Bishop Lindbergh Cox and Mother Alberta Cox for many years. After her faithful service in Powhatan,she branched out once again to the Love Center of Unity Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Pastor Larry Branch and First Lady Lynette Branch,where she was honored as one of the four Mothers' of the church. Barbara was gifted at cooking and she demonstrated her love for people through cooking in many ways. Her love for cooking fed many;she found out that way to win souls was to feed them. She made sure that the Pastor and his household had more than enough because the word of Yahweh says to do good to the household of faith first and she followed his word. She was a loving mother to her son and daughter-in-law and a wonderful grandmother;she made them all a great part of her life. Through all of her struggles she never complained. She was an anointed singer and uplifted many by the songs she sang such as"Never Say No To Yahshua,I Won't Complain,Everybody Ought To Praise His Name,and I am So Satisfied". Her assignment was completed on May 2,2011 when Yahweh called her to eternal home and she will be sorely missed and cherished by all. She leaves to cherish her memory,her son,Keith Banks;two grandsons,Keith Banks,Jr. and Eric Banks;two sisters,Martha Crawley and Margaret Wade;one brother,herman Pleasants,Jr.;one daughter-in-law,Ereka Banks;one great grandson,Yahshon Banks;one sister-in-law,Mairiazonnie Pleasants;two brothers-in-law,Alvin Crawley and Ernest Wade,Sr.;as well as a host of nieces and nephews,aunts,uncles,cousins,relatives and other devoted friends.
