Aubrey Alexander Gotha

AUBREY GOTHA, son of the late William Henry Gotha and Stella Jackson, was born October 22, 1928 in the beautiful island of St. Johns, Antigua. Aubrey attended high school at the Antiguan Grammar School. His college education was at LaSalle University, where he studied accounting. Sir, as he was fondly known to his family and friends, was an avid sportsman who played cricket, tennis, soccer and basketball, representing Antigua proudly at many tournaments. In 1954 he married his high school sweetheart, who was his wife of fifty-two years, and from this union four beautiful children were born. After working for the West Indies Oil Company as an accountant for over ten years, he ventured to the United States, finally settling down in Baltimore, Maryland in 1977. Aubrey worked at Manor Hill Foods from which he retired in 1993. After retirement he devoted his time to his grandchildren and the organizations in the church, primarily the Knights of Colombus. He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Kathleen Gotha; daughters, Sheila C. Gotha, Lisa Evans, Enid L. Edwards, Kathleen A. Gotha, Yvonne E. Gotha; son, Raymond A. Edwards, Lureka T. Williams, Kirk P. Francis, Kasim K. Francis, Sanya Joseph, Steve Joseph and Suraj Joseph; great-grandchildren, Alickka N. Edwards, Nazeem M. Edwards Jr., Maleek O. Edwards and Laquan Roberts; brothers, Noel Gotha and Glenn Roy Gotha; sisters, Edris Gotha and Innocent Edwards; sisters-in-law, Ruth Mannix, Millicent Swift, Marion Stanley, Mabel-Ann Motley-Swift, Jennifer Gotha and Joan Swift; brothers-in-law, Vere Mannix, Sr., Earl Stanley, Alexander Swift and Reginald Swift; stepsons, Philbert Christian, Dean Weeks, Dr. Radcliffe Robins and Austin Jarvis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren too numerous to mention; and a host of friends including Alice Ray, Selwyn Michael, June Brown, Almera Hughs, Herbert Kirnon, Norah Branker, Jean Kirnon, Denise and Donna Farquhar and Daphney Armstrong.
