Ashley Newton

Ashley Nicole Newto n was born June 15, 1994 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this earthly life on March 15, 2020 at University of Maryland Hospital. Ashley graduated from Baltimore Talent High School. After high school, she matriculated at Fortis College where she earned certification in Sterile Medical Processing. She became a Sterile Processing Technician at Franklin Square Hospital and University of Maryland Hospital. Ashley was a kind, loving, thoughtful, gracious and sociable young lady. She was beautiful both inside and out, the light of any family gathering or party. Her smile would illuminate any room she entered. Ashley had a zest for life. She enjoyed eating out with her family. One might have called her a “foodie”. Vanilla milkshakes were her favorite. Watching Lifetime Television was also a favorite pastime. She also loved spending “girl time” with her sister, Arielle, getting pedicures, manicures and going out to eat. Ashley also enjoyed a good glass of tequila or a glass of fine wine. She was the ideal aunt and she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was also known for her expert preparation of macaroni and cheese. In May of 2019, Ashley met the love of her life, Willie Ruff. Together, they were raising son Kasyn Newton. On March 6,2020, God blessed the couple with another son, Karter Ruff. Ashley will also be remembered for her passion for “selfies”. Whether at the dinner table, back yard cookouts, or just out in the community, she took many pictures of herself. She leaves to mourn: Willie Ruff; sons, Kasyn Newton and Karter Ruff; mother, Margaret Newton Gray; father, Richard Gray preceded her in death; grandfather, Alton Newton; grandmother, Christine Newton also preceded her in death; sister and best friend, Arielle McCray (Ernest); brothers, Keith and Corey Newton; nephews, Brandon Coby, Kaiyon Newton, Kamon Newton, Kayden Newton and Kwontay Newton; nieces, Arionna McCray, Brionna McCray and Kourtney Newton; aunts, Gloria Newton Ball (Jerome), Carolyn Newton Putty (the late Gregory Putty), Velma Newton Miller ( James); uncles, Alton Newton preceded her in death, Jeffrey Newton, Rodney Newton (Evette); cousins, Donnell Newton Sr., Gary Newton, Christina Newton, Joe Washington, Donnell Newton Jr., Destiny Barnes, Nicole Miller, Dominic Newton, Quantez Newton, Natasha Newton, Natavian Newton, Tamiya Newton and a host of other family and friends.
