Arthur D. Cotman

Arthur David Cotman was born in Newport News VA on August 30th, 1935 to the late Bessie Cotman Quivers and Arthur Courtney. He was preceded in death by two brothers Bernard(Dick) Cotman, Jesse Quivers(Gail); one sister Agnes(Boo) Quivers. Arthur, affectionately known as Jim, attended Woodburn School in Charles City VA Growing up Arthur Jim was no stranger to hard work he often told childhood stories about him and his oIder brother Bernard(Dick). Jim who had a love for fast cars and beautiful women enjoyed life to the fullest He would often refer to himself as Jim Dandy to the rescue. All of this would change when he set his eyes on met the love of his life the soft-spoken but feisty Lucy Mae. Jim and Lucy were married for 41 beautiful years until her passing. To this union was born four children; Lindoria, Theresita, Arthur, and Janel. Jim was a kind and gentle man who always took care of his family as well as his friends. He was employed by Dixie Container at the age of 19. He worked long and hard along with his brother Daniel(Buster). Jim would eventually retire from Dixie container/PCA after 53 years of service. Jim had incredible work ethics and rarely or never missed a day and was always on time. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed. Arthur (Jim) leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Lindoria; Theresita(Johnny); Arthur(Kristen), and Janel. One granddaughter; Andrea, and 3 grandsons: Taijon, Jordan, and Justin; One brother Daniel(Buster)Liza; a devoted cousin who was like a sister; Estelle Crenshaw; Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other closely related family members. Miss Me, But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me; I want no rites in a gloom-filled room, why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the things that we once shared-miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone; It's all a part of the master's plan, a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to friends we know; And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss Me-But Let Me Go!
