Antoinette Bernice Hutchins

ANTOINETTE BERNICE HUTCHINS, daughter of the late Robert Gunther and Bernice Hutchins, was born on April 16, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on May 2, 2013 after a lengthy illness. She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System and obtained her GED from Sojourner Douglass College. In 1999, she became a dedicated employee of Greater Baltimore Medical Center for thirteen years. “Aunt Annette,” as everyone called her, was outgoing, energetic and fun-loving, even during her final struggle with Heart Disease, she was so full of life and love; a (strong) woman she was. She had lots of love for everyone; especially her twin brother, Tony and her grandchildren. She touched the lives of everyone that knew her. She had the ability to make everyone feel like their relationship with her was both special and unique. That’s how Special she was. She was the epitome of an Aunt, Sister and truly loving Mother. The bond between Annette and her son, Maurice was the kind of bond that only a mother and son can have. To see Annette with her daughter, Jerkeria was to witness not only a love between mother and daughter, but also a true friendship that only can be shared between the best of friends. She was a loyal friend with a huge heart. Annette truly enjoyed helping and serving others. Playing the Lottery and Reading were her all-time favorite pastimes. It wasn’t uncommon for her to read the entire book in mere hours. She also enjoyed watching movies, listening to oldie-but-goodies, playing tough with the boys, laughing and making jokes. She really enjoyed dancing and having a good time. To see Annette dance to her favorite song, “Set It Off,” you’d know the party had just begun! Annette leaves to mourn: two children, Maurice and Jerkeria Wallace; one niece, that she raised as her own, Veronica Jamison; one stepson, Raphael Wallace; two grandchildren, Shikera Wallace and Derrick Miller; three brothers, (her twin) Anthony Hutchins, Howard Hutchins and Tyrone Hutchins; three sisters, Sylvia Matthews, Angela Jowers and Valerie Lomax; two brothers-in- law, Eugene Jowers and Edward Lomax; one sister-in-law, Marion Hutchins; two special friends, Vernon Carter and her children’s father, Arnold Wallace; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Antoinette was preceded in death by: three brothers, Ronald L. Hutchins, André S. Hutchins and Bruce D. Hutchins; and two sisters, Shirley D. Hawkins and Geraldine F. Wynn.
