Antoine Stamper

ANTOINE JOEL STAMPER, SR., son of the late Anthony Jardine Stamper and Barbara Cox Swann, was born on June 2, 1969 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was raised by Harry O. Swann, who loved him since the age of 3. Antoine departed this life, suddenly, on March 29, 2017. Antoine was born with a rare kidney disease called Prune Belly Syndrome. This disease attacks the entire renal (kidney) system. Children are born without an inner abdominal muscle among other muscle among other issues. Most children do not live past puberty. Antoine was very animated and creative as a child. Antoine would charge the x-ray technicians 25 cent per IVP or Cystoscopy because these procedures hurt him. He would request a "butterfly" needle for any blood drawn. He was 2 1/2 years old making these requests. God was on his side and after 40 surgeries he was surgery-free. He fell in love with God after he found out that God had saved him. No more ileostomy bags! He was baptized Catholic on March 7, 1971, having all of his sacraments at St. Ambrose Church. Father Henry and Sr. Charmaine were his god-parents. He attended St. Ambrose Parochial School, Sunday School and was an Altar Server at St. Ambrose. Antoine and his brother, Chris, were inseparable. Father Henry would call them "gophers" because they were always up to something. Antoine continued his education in Baltimore City Public Schools. His first job was a Liberty Medical Center. He also worked for Harbor Cruises, Exxon Gas Station and he volunteered at Bon Secours Hospital. During his work time, he met the love of his life, Collenen Anajanku and from this union one soon, Antoine Jr., was born. This was a twenty-five year relationship. He loved his family! Antoine was a sports fan of the Orioles, March Madness and football. He was dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan. His car was decked out with Dallas Cowboys memorabilia. He loved playing Play Station with his son, cooking on the grill and dancing. He could really dance! At family events he would make everybody laugh! His nieces and nephews loved Uncle Antoine. He was so much fun! Antoine was very proud of his son, and his younger brothers achievements. Family members loved Antoine too. Antoine will be missed. He leaves to mourn: life-long partner, Colleen Anajanku; son, Antoine Jr.; mother, Barbara Swann; stepfather, Harry Swann; brothers, (preceded in death, Brian Christopher), Willliam, Harry, O III, and Joshua; nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of family and friends.
