Anthony Cornelius White

Some say that death is an ending, however death is only the beginning; The Journey has begun On December the 23, 2013 after a short illness, Anthony C. White departed this earthly life at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Cornelius Jr. and father, John Henry Hines. Anthony Cornelius White (affectionately known as Tight White) was born on July 17, 1957 in Kinston, North Carolina. He was the son of John Henry Hines and Lydia Richardson. Anthony was raised in a Christian home with deep Christian values principals and most of all plenty of love. To friends and family he was thoughtful and supportive. Anthony always demonstrated a strong love and affection for his grandchildren; they were the best part of his life. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. If you needed some good food he was the chef to call upon. Anthony accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age. He began his work in the vineyard by joining St. Peters Church in Dover, North Carolina, where he served on the usher board. Anthony attended public school in Fort Barnwell, North Carolina and graduated from West Craven High School in Vanceboro. While attending high school, he drove the school bus, played softball, basketball and studied brick masonry. After graduation, he attended Lenoir Community College pursuing a degree in Architecture. In 1978, Anthony relocated to Richmond, Virginia to have a better life for himself. In 1997, he married Donzella Cole, and from that union no children were born. Anthony was employed with Reynolds Metal for a number of years, as well as General Electric. Anthony was contracted to work in janitorial service for over fifteen years until his death. We were blessed to have Anthony with us for 56 years, however God had another assignment. He leaves to cherish loving memories, his wife, Donzella Cole and a devoted mother, Lydia Richardson; three daughters, Katasha Roberts, Taye White and Sheba Cole; son, Arthur Cole; one adopted brother, Bishop Malcolm Johnson; three sister, Shelia Richardson, Elder Rosa Williams and Stephanie Hines; two aunts, Carolyn Ferguson (Rufus) and Mateleine Kelly; one uncle, Delano White (Brenda); eight grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
