Anthony G. McLeod Sr.

Anthony Glenn McLeod Sr. the son of Joseph and Brenda McLeod was born on December 21, 1965 in Baltimore, MD. Big Anthony as he was called by those close to him was the eldest of five children. He departed this life on August 25, 2016 peacefully in the early morning with his family by his side. Big Anthony was well known until God called him home. In 1975 Anthony Sr. along with his siblings was baptized at New Shiloh Baptist Church by the late Dr. Harold A. Carter Sr. He gave his life to Christ at an early age an often worshiped the local community church. Anthony Sr. had some down days just like anyone else but could always reach out to his father Joseph for spiritual guidance. After their conversation he would get enough strength to continue this journey called life. Big Anthony received his education in Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Walbrook Senior High School in 1984. He went on to study at NTB automotive repair for several years. In 1991 Big Anthony became disabled but never let that slow him down. Family was everything to him no matter what and he never missed a family event. He was always independent and living on his own with a smile on his face and never wanted to be a burden to anyone. When anyone mentioned playing cards Anthony was there. His second love was his mother’s food and he would call her every day to see what was on the menu. Big Anthony took pride in his son Anthony Jr. and always talking about how great of a man he had become. Even though his son a Baltimore City Fire Fighter had long hours they always managed to spend time together. He would enjoy the time spent with his grandkids Anthony III and Paris. Big Anthony would often call his niece Erica to assist with any disability needs or appointments. In 2009 Big Anthony was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the tenant council of Lakeview Towers for his dedication and loyal service provided for the residence. He was a valued resident as well. Big Anthony leaves in his memory his parents Joseph and Brenda McLeod, Two sisters Toria McLeod Perry and Karen McLeod, Two brothers Derrick McLeod Sr. and Rodney McLeod, One Son Anthony Glenn McLeod Jr. Two grandchildren Anthony Glenn McLeod III and Paris Baily. One niece Erica McLeod and Two nephews Derrick McLeod Jr and Donovan Thomas. One Uncle Wadell Williams Jr., five aunts Priscilla Gilliam (Henry) Edith Baines(Rev. Henry T. Baines), Mageline Jones, Christine Arrington, Gina Coley(Willie). Very special friends of the family Devona Smith, Wadell and Vera James. A host of family and friends.
