Anthony Jerome Dorsey

ANTHONY JEROME DORSEY, was born on August 10, 1957. he was the second son of the late Bernard A. L. Dorsey, Sr. and Mary E. (Harris) Dorsey. He departed this life on Saturday, May 21, 2011. Tony, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends received his education through the Baltimore City School System. After graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Army. It was during this time he married his high school sweetheart, Denise Ashe. He had a natural knack for math and working with his hands. Tony was skilled in a variety of trades, as a result he had a diverse employment background. However, Tony experienced true personal fulfillment while working at the Veteran Administration Hospital and Medical Center. He spent a lot of time there aiding the disabled and elderly veterans. During his life, Tony studied many different faiths and religions. On September of 2009 he found a spiritual home and became a member of the Cokesbury United Methodist Church under the guidance of Pastor Provey Powell. Tony was an advent storyteller and in his free time he found pleasure in drawing and art. He was a prankster with the children in the family and had a nickname for each one. Tony also traveled often throughout his life. He made numerous friends wherever he went. He was a true joy and help to his family and friends. He enjoyed sports especially football and wrestling. His loving heart allowed him to enjoy the fullness of life. His presence and trademark laugh will sincerely be missed by everyone who knew him. Anthony Jerome Dorsey leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, La Tasha (Dorsey) Lane and Antoinette Dorsey; son-in-law, John Lane, Sr.; three grandchildren, Ikirya Lane, Keyontae Rheubottom and John Lane, Jr., three sister, Roslyn Dorsey, Bridgett Dorsey and Shenelle Williams, three brothers. Bernard Dorsey, Jr., James Dorsey and Ernest Dorsey; two sister-in-law, Veda Dorsey and Wanda Dorsey; one aunt, Doris Jones; one uncle, David Dorsey; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Tony will join three brothers, Derek Dorsey, David Dorsey and Matthew Dorsey; and sister, Darlene Dorsey; who all preceded him in death.
