Annie M. Green

Annie M. Green, the only daughter of the late William and Annie Margie (Prince) Laster, was born on March 20, 1921, the 5th of 6 children, in Raleigh, North Carolina. She went home to heaven to be with her husband, Allen, on January 17, 2005, the day before their 65th wedding anniversary, after a lengthy illness.She graduated Salutatorian from Fuquay Varina High School in North Carolina and had careers spanning from Manager at High’s in Cherry Hill and Analyst at NSA, to the Information Department of the Better Business Bureau where she leaned to use the computer at age 60.Annie married Allen Green in 1940 and from this love union was born four children, Catherine Gordon of Baltimore, MD, Allen Green, Jr. (deceased), Cecelia McLeod of Glen Burnie, MD, and Richard Wayne Green of Minot, North Dakota.Annie accepted Christ at an early age as she and her family was faithful members and sang together at the Holly Springs Christian Community Church in North Carolina. She brought Christ and her singing with her when she joined Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church in 1956, a church family she loved and who loved her back as she served as Elder and choir member. She often asked God through song for strength “One Day at a Time” and loved to remind folks that “He’s An On-Time God”.Annie leaves to celebrate her life: two daughters, Catherine Gordon and Cecelia McLeod; one son, Richard Green; one son-in-law, Robert McLeod; whom she loved more than he’ll ever know, two daughters-in-law, Alva and Judi Green; a beloved cousin, Vivian Patterson; and four sisters-in-law, Vida and Cora Mae Laster, Mamie Perry and Carolyn Brown; three dedicated friends, Leoma Thompson, Myrna Lucas and Selena Hines; seven grandchildren, Byron and Robert Gordon, Michele Marshall, Michael McLeod, Marc, Brian and Erica Green; and seven great-grandchildren, Brandon Green, Cameron and Ethan Marshall, Maiella, Kristasia and Brianna and special great-grandson, Ernest; and a host of relatives and friends.We have all been blessed by having the privilege to walk with her for a part of our journey.
