Annette B. Spaulding

Wednesday, December 14, 2016, Jesus said, “Come Unto Me and Rest," Annette B. Spaulding heard Him and obeyed. Annette was born August 1, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Rebecca and Eugene R. Spaulding, Jr. She was the youngest girl of twelve siblings. On December 7, 1973, Annette and Spencer Wright were blessed with a daughter Shelley. She later met Wendell Harris and formed a loving and everlasting companionship which they shared for many years. “Net” as she was so fondly called, was a caring person and loved her family and friends very much. She was a happy-go-lucky person who loved to laugh, sing and dance. But when playing bid whist, backgammon or other games with family and friends her competitive nature came out. Net also loved spending time with her granddaughter and enjoyed reading. She confessed her faith in God and aspired to learn more about God as she read and discussed the bible at New Deliverance Evangelistic Church. Net touched the lives of so many people with her loving heart and untold compassion for others. Her smile would light up the room. Annette began her education at Yale Elementary and Parker High School in Chicago, Illinois and completed her education in the Richmond Public School System. She was employed by Woolworth Department Store and later the Tribune Newspaper in Chicago. Her last place of employment was working at KFC in Richmond as a supervisor, until her health declined. Annette was preceded in death by her three brothers, Anthony, André and Ronald and her daughter, Shelley E. Spaulding “KayC-Tootsie”. She was a special grandmother that took her journey to the gates of heaven, to be the newest angel up above. She leaves to cherish her memories her granddaughter, Robin Nicole. She will truly be missed by the love of her life, best friend and long-time companion, Wendell Harris; caring siblings from Chicago, Gwen Tyler, Eugene Spaulding, III (Cynthia); Andrea Daniels (Eric), Geneva Alexander, Howard Spaulding, Donald Spaulding (Beth), Edward Spaulding (Caryn), and Patrick Spaulding; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, special loving friends, Amanda Curtis and Cynthia Reveley. In the path of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death. Proverbs 12:28
