The Legacy of Annette Elizabeth Myers On Sunday, October 7, 2012, God sent two angels to Chesterfield, Virginia to accompany Ms. Annette Elizabeth Myers to heaven. She was surrounded by her two daughters. She was preceded in death by daughter, Niquita D. Myers and brother, Jessie Andrew Myers, Jr. Annette was born June 23, 1959 in Richmond, Virginia where she attended the Richmond Public School System. She accepted Christ at an early age. Annette worked as a Phlebotomist/Quality Control Specialist for Virginia Blood Service for over 23 years, until her health began to decline. She loved sewing, crocheting, and as we all know shopping. She was a faithful shopper of Stein Mart where she not only shopped for herself, but for others as well. Annette will always be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and special friend to many. She adored her two grandchildren. They were part of the joy in her life. She was best known for speaking her mind in a humorous way. Annette was loved and will truly be missed. She was the backbone, the strength, and the light of her family. We will never allow the light to flicker and we will carry her torch to eternity. She fought a good fight and now she has finished her course. She kept the faith, hence forth. There is laid up for her a crown of righteousness. She leaves to cherish and carry on her legacy two devoted and caring daughters, Marquita J. Evans (Travis) and Riquita Hill; two grandchildren, Travis T. Evans and Terry L. Morrison “TJ”; mother, Edith Moore (Kevin); father, Jessie Andrew Myers, Sr.; brother, James Edward Myers (Alice); aunt, Edna Shell (James); uncle, Joseph Parham (Gloria); sister-in-law, Edith Myers; several devoted friends, Claudine Turpin, Lucille Edwards, Verlie Foreman and Gerry Irving, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A limb has fallen from the family tree. We keep hearing a voice that says, grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage,I’m counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions,no matter how small. Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls I miss you all dearly Until the day comes we’re together again. “Granny” By Travis “Tee-Tee” Evans Annette Myers was a young fifty-three year old woman who suffered from the silent killer known as cancer. She fought bravely for two long years against this debilitating disease. Unfortunately, she ultimately lost like too many other people worldwide. However, we are here to commemorate her memory and not just let her become another statistic. Some of us may be sad at her passing, but she is now in a better place devoid of the suffering she endured over the last two years. Annette Myers was an outstanding example of a very giving human being whom always managed to somehow put others beyond herself and her needs. She cared deeply for her friends, family, and all of her loved ones to a great extent. In fact, so much that on many occasions I can recall where she would spend hours on end talking to friends and family in person or on the telephone. Most of us would probably get tired after a certain amount of time, but in Annette’s case that never happened. She loved talking and being with her family and friends. This only serves to further prove she is a great individual whom only deserves the utmost respect and admiration from all of her friends, family, and peers regardless of her location. Annette will be missed by all, however don’t fret. She will always be with us deep in the recesses of our mind and in our hearts until we too die and meet her in the afterlife. I personally, want to thank each and every one of you whom attended this memorial of the late great Annette Myers. While she may no longer be with us physically, just remember that she will always be with us in both spirit and memory.
